Name: Molly Weasley | Age: 29 | FC: Melissa McCarthy | Availability: Open
âSometimes when you pick up your child you can feel the map of your own bones beneath your hands, or smell the scent of your skin in the nape of his neck. This is the most extraordinary thing about motherhood - finding a piece of yourself separate and apart that all the same you could not live without.â
It could be argued that Molly has always been a mother, she just didnât always have children of her own there to protect. Whilst her parents worked long hours, looking to bring in what money they could for their little family, she would be the main guardian in her brotherâs lives. Her dolls were always dressed perfectly, their clothes pressed and arranged in colour order. She would spend hours perfecting recipes in the kitchen, writing her own book with notes on who didnât like something in their cookies. For each of her brothers, she served a different role, being the friend that they needed. Gideon was her ally, someone she could roll her eyes with whenever their parents or Fabian did something a little bizarre. And for Fabian, who she would forever see as they youngest no matter what he did, she was a constant source of emotional support, solving his problems and listening to whatever his young mind wanted to talk about. She grew up to be thrifty. Molly would knit and sew clothes from the moment she was old enough to work out how, making sure they all had something new despite the fact that money was tight.
At Hogwarts, she continued her trend of looking after those around her. Even though she was in her first year, she quickly earned herself jokes about being the mother of Gryffindor tower. And she loved it. There were suddenly more people in her life that she could become friends with and look after. Molly always seemed to be the one bringing people cups of tea when they were up late and reminding them to eat when they spent too much time in the library. It was as if she had a personal radar on everyone she cared about, just so she could make sure they were as happy as they could possibly be. She cared for everyone, almost so much that it was a fault, but it would be a fool who thought of her as a pushover. Molly was not weak. When people made a mistake, she would call them on it and make sure they understood that every action has a consequence. She would not give up on people, however. If she truly believed that someone was better than they were being, she would find a way to make them see that. Â
Meeting Arthur was a turning point for her. Molly didnât know when it was that she fell in love with the funny boy who always seemed to be fiddling with a muggle invention of some sort, only that when she did, it was forever. It was strange, at first, to have someone so invested in protecting her when she had always been that for other people but Molly soon adjusted and the pair of them decided to spend their lives together. The wedding was rushed. It was not the big production she had once dreamt of, but it felt just like them. Settling into their home and into their lives was disrupted by her falling pregnant, but Molly couldnât have been more excited. There was something that felt so right when she looked into the eyes of her first born son and realised that she had never loved anything so much in her life. The two of them didnât have much, but they both agreed that they wanted a big family. Soon after Bill came Charlie and then Percy, and now sheâs pregnant with twins. Molly has a feeling that she isnât finished yet. She has so much love to give and her boys are all so unique that she canât wait to see who she brings into the world next.
Thereâs one thing Molly wants more than anything in the world and she almost cannot bring herself to admit it. She wants a daughter. She loves her sons with everything she has but thereâs three of them now and she just wants to bring a girl into the mix. Thereâs something so appealing to her about the idea of having a girl to dress up. Sheâd never tell Arthur though. Something about admitting it out loud makes her feel guilty. She loves her boys and she will love whoever it is she gives birth to next, itâs just that she has a longing in her that only a girl can fill. She knows it might be foolish to bring children into a world at war when they donât have the money to provide anything special for them, but she never had money and she was always happy with that. She just hopes other people can start to see it that way before theyâre completely alienated.
Positive traits: Caring, Compassionate, Proud
Negative traits: Short Tempered, Secretive, Nosy
Fabian Prewett: Fabian was always the baby of her family and even now heâs grown, she still feels the same urge to keep him wrapped up that she always has. She loves how good he is with Arthur and the kids, but sheâs worried for the day she has to tell them heâs been taken from the world because of the war. Molly knows itâs not going to help anything, but sheâs always begging him to not volunteer for as many things. Heâs a kid, in her eyes, and he shouldnât be looking at the horrors of the world.
Gideon Prewett: There was always something odd about the way Gideon would follow a routine to the letter, but she passed it off as his way of trying to cope with the crazy world they lived in. As the war has been going on, however, sheâs noticing that heâs becoming more and more obsessed with keeping things neat and clean. He doesnât seem to come around as much as he once did and sheâs worried that heâs losing parts of himself as he fights a war that he shouldnât be in the middle of.
Arthur Weasley: Arthur is everything to Molly. She never meant to fall in love with him, but it happened anyway. Heâs always seen her for exactly who she is and loved her for it anyway and that means the world. Now, she looks around at their growing family and cannot imagine her life without him in it. Heâs her rock. Heâs given her everything in the world that she could ever want and she knows she will never stop loving her for it. But even he is determined to risk his life to make the world safe and she spends every day worrying that he wonât come home.
Rosmerta Fawley: The pair of them were in school together and Molly has watched Rosmerta go through a lot to become the woman she is today. Sheâs proud of her friend, in more ways than she could ever say. Molly wishes she had more time to get out and remind Rosmerta that she does have friends there who will support her no matter what, but with the kids, itâs hard for her to be that person still.
