hey, sorry if I'm bothering you, do you have any headcanons about yamazaki?
i just saw this ππππ but i do have a bit! hes one of my fav characters, i wish there was more content of himβ¦ im not very organized with my thoughts so this is just a little bit
- he stayed at an orphanage for most of his first years before getting kicked out after being framed, for a little while he was just wandering around the village until that day when he met Akira
- heβs not too bothered about gender (since technically, he doesnβt have one), which is funny because this is the same guy who was in denial with being in love with his best friend for years. woke but not in that field i suppose
- because of being called βboringβ for so long, he tried to get into different hobbies, but since hes basically the only competent officer on the island, heβs too busy to actually pursue them. he might know a thing or two about fishing thoβ¦ lol
- when he first came into Akiraβs care, he didnβt how to cook (just basic fire-starting skills) but since akira was clueless as well, he forced himself to learn for both (or all three, considering kurai) of them (luckily akira had a cookbook in his library). he enjoys doing it now and he loves when Kuniko helps him.
- (more takayama-centric) he usually pays for whenever they go out because he feels like he has to. he doesnβt like it when Akira spends too much (despite being rich asf LOL).
- Akiraβs tried to convince him to move in with him full-time but Makoto insists on living at the apartment (even if he barely even stays there since heβs always doing a late shift or at the mansion)
- lightweight (iβm not sure if this is canon but iβve seen arts of him being drunk lol) so he doesnβt drink too much in case he has to drive Akira home.
- wants to see other doppelgΓ€ngers like him, but heβs never had the chance to because itβs not local to japan.
- he was probably one of the class officers back in high school. i just dunno which
- another high school hc, there were lots of rumors surrounding him and Akira (saying they were a bad luck kind of duo) but Akira didnβt know about it because makoto made sure it never reached him.
- i like to think he can make small tweaks in his appearance when transformed into someone else (usually Akira), but mostly chooses not to.
this is just a little since i genuinely cant list everything off the top of my head⦠oops
I'm kinda curious as to what the Takahashi parents think about Makoto. Do they even remember that there was a third kid growing up in their house? Do they consider him a family friend, a stranger, a son-in-law (who said that?), a stray cat their son brought home one day?
We know that Kurai and Akira don't consider him to be their brother (huge win for takayama shippers), but what about their parents? Also, in the meiji-arc he once says that he lives and works at the Takahashi-house, does that mean he was more like a servant? (Would make sense, since Akira would have scared away anyone else, and we never see a servant in the house (unusual for a house of that size and a family of that status back then).)
Anyway, I am once again asking for details about this guy's backstory, because "spawned into the forest like a Minecraft chicken" leaves some (read: a shit ton of) questions unanswered.

Yohaji ships vs. IKEA furniture
Harumiki: Haru could understand the manual perfectly, and Miki is (as an oni) incredibly strong. They should be the perfect team. Butβ Haru is a loser and Miki has anger issues. So what really happens is: Haru knows they are supposed to use screw B now, except he dropped screw B 0.2 seconds after opening the package. Miki is about to take a baseball bat to their new shelf.
IbaIzu (Ibara x Hatanaka, idk what the shipname is): Hatanaka tries to show off, saying "it's very straightforward, I don't even need the instruction manual". And he fucks up. Big time. Ibara (who still thinks he's the coolest person ever) sits down to help him and together they succeed. Of course, they have some trouble caused by the 4 children in their house, but it all works out in the end.
Gakutai (Ranmaru x Douman, not sure of the shipname): a snowball's chance in hell. Absolutely impossible. They are the one (1) ship I absolutely can not see even being in a situation where they would be faced with IKEA furniture, but if they were, they would fail. Epicly. Like, sitting around the eldritch abomination of a table they just created, getting drunk off cheap beer. (Both of them would have better chances working alone.)
Takayama: They can do it. Akira is used to working with 2D diagrams of 3D things (because of medical textbooks) and Makoto is great at following orders. Together, they are basically the perfect team for this (especially considering Akira's oni strenght). That is, of course if neither of them get called into work halfway through, and Akira doesn't start wondering what would happen if they did it differently (cue eldritch abomination).
Seidou (Seimei x Douman, not sure of the ship name): (Let's assume Heian era Japan had access to an IKEA.) Seimei decides that sitting back and watching Douman get progressively more pissed off is more fun than owning a new bookshelf (plus he already knows that they are bound to fail). Meanwhile Douman is cursing every person ever involved with the manual, IKEA or Sweden in general.
