"Where have you been?"
“Jesus, Steve.” Alison turned around, having her eyes widened by him. “You’ve caught me off guard.” She began to laugh, followed by a small bite to her lip. She’d never guess they would meet again. It was months since these two last spoke to each other and there were more differences that set the world apart.
Steve was in the spotlight due to being the frontman of his band, his previous experience with acting, and his charisma. All of that was known to draw people in, including Alison. While she was under the radar, working in a record shop, then went to concerts- but she wouldn’t try turning heads. That changed when he asked where was she. “I’ve been traveling lately.”
"Did I really?", he asked her. "I didn't mean to caught ya off guard and I would never." Steve laughed with her, then glanced over at her biting her lip. He noticed that she was still the same Alison from when they first met, even after everything else in the 60s changed.
Steve's boredom with routines in music played a role in his life changing, yet there were other factors. He was still the frontman of a band, but with a fresher style, new members, less trust towards the music industry, getting married for the first time, and dabbling more into drugs. Then again, he had some memories of him with Alison when they were younger. For once, he didn't mind it. "Well, I've been wanting to travel too but I've been stuck here, writing new songs, day after day."
