Kirumi Tojo expression sheet for a friend!
SHINGUUJI (official-shinguuji)
Korekiyo demonstrated no hesitation. This was nothing new to him. Though the experience was unpleasant the very first time, after studying various relics, documents and ruins of dubious origin, he’s arrived to one conclusion: even the things that humanity fears provide rich context and value to anthropology and history. As such, he has solidified his will and desire to study any and all forms of relics and clues for the sake of his field of interest, even those which supposedly bring chaos, misfortune and sins into one’s life. Fortunately, the Ouija Board is not one of those. This game is merely a mockery of what the supernatural truly is– an empty game based on the theory of restless vengeful spirits and their rumored existence. He shall not fall for those bluffs, but this is the season of spooky scary skeletons, according to the data he’s gathered from online sources.
“Do not worry. I am aware my appearance and mannerisms instill doubt and fear into the hearts of our classmates, however I do not seek to hurt you in anyway, Toujou-san. This is simply… An experience of the supernatural. I asked you because I wanted to show you the darkest corners of my work, though this is more of a… Mockery, a buffoonery out of my line of work, yet if we hope enough, perhaps we might sense something, ku ku ku.~” As cryptic as always it seems. Well, he did mean what he said about meaning no harm. Kirumi is someone everyone is fond of either ways, he’s certain if he were to even harm a single silver strand of hair from the maid’s head, Tenko would personally take matters into her own hands… Her two, sturdy and pain-inducing hands. It’s best to not think of what might become of him! Yes, focus on the situation at hand, Korekiyo.
“Your apology is unnecessary. As I’ve mentioned, I believe this is…” He stops himself mid-sentence. Long, slender fingers caressing the edge of a chair as he stares at the worn furniture, deep-in-thought before he blinks once, returning from his brief trance and sitting down. “… Just a waste of my talents as an Anthropologist. Fear of the unknown is a very common thing, Toujou-san. If I do frighten you, I sincerely hope you accept my deepest apologies. I find you far too beautiful, upsetting you would bring nothing short of despair in my life. I jest, I jest, but please do not hesitate. I shall show you the otherworld is nothing to fear, yes?” As he spoke, Korekiyo suddenly took Kirumi’s gloved hand and held it with his own, using his remaining free hand to remove his hat and set it asides, eyes completely fixated on the Super High-School Level Maid sitting across from him. “It is unlike me to make such promises, however I guarantee you. In the slim chance something does go wrong, I will use my knowledge to protect you at all costs.”
Having said that, and hoping to have calmed down Kirumi’s nervers, Korekiyo lets go of her hand and instead grabs the planchette. Golden hues staring at the spirit board as he places the wooden, heart-shaped object at the center of the board, which also sat at the very center of the table. “We won’t attempt to contact any demons or restless spirits, as they usually are considerably harder to deal with once summoned. Instead, Toujou-san. I have to ask you. Is there someone in your life whom you’ve lost that you wish to speak to again? Though chances are slim, there’s always the possibility we might get through to a specific spirit.” At least he sounds like he knows what he’s talking about. Hopefully that also helps Kirumi relax. This shouldn’t take long– at least no more than 15 minutes approximately if done right.
A SLOW NOD WAS GIVEN TO THE EXPLANATION. "I see..." Her words trailed off and hung in the air, and she was certain her hesitancy still showed in the tone of her voice- nonetheless, if he wished to show her this aspect of his studies, so be it. To deny him such an opportunity would be unlike her typical behaviors. Another nod was given to acknowledge his bit about the "fear of the unknown;" after all, that was all her fear had been, was it not? The simple inability to predict the outcome, and the uncertainty of what she might be exposed to.
A softening of her expression was given in response to his apology; she had accepted it the moment it had passed his lips, as per her typical nature. But then such compliments flow from beneath his mask, and in truth the touch of his hand upon her own caused a blush to creep up upon her pale features. In jest or in sincerity, Kirumi was still flustered by the notion of such phrases. She felt he was genuine in his promise- it was hard to distrust such carefully emitted words, after all. She did not have the time to focus too much on the processing of his words, however; becoming self conscious of the warmth in her cheeks, the maid found herself closing her eyes for but a moment to take a slow inhale. When her eyes did open again, her composure was strongly in-tact.
"I appreciate such, Shinguuji-kun. I will place my trust in you, then." In truth, her nerves were indeed settling; if all she had to fear was the unknown, and if Shinguuji promised her that there would be no harm to come to her, then her nerves were nothing short of unproductive. A hindrance, and an overexertion of energy into something that would not serve her. Another deep breath was taken as she watched her companion to set the board up correctly, but his question caused her to blink a few times in response.
"I can think of no one, I'm afraid," she answered after a moment; her encounters with death and the people in her life had been slim, after all. It was a comfort, to hear him say that they would not be contacting anything potentially unruly. Though her fears were quelled by his earlier reassurances, it was still a pleasant release of tension upon her gut to be once again reminded this would be simple and controlled. He certainly sounded as though he knew was he was talking about-- even if this was a mockery of his profession.
Get bent
“...”
"Do you believe that the truth will set you free?"
Shakespearean Character Ask Meme
SHE DOES NOT RESPOND FOR A MOMENT. In truth, the maid is lost in thought in order to give the response she will give due diligence; such a question should not be taken lightly. When she felt she has pondered for a sufficient amount of time, she looks up from her work. “I believe so, yes. That is to say, once one accepts the truth, they may begin to move forward and come to terms with the world and situation around them.” After all- if one does not accept something as truth, then it will not be counted as accurate; rather, it will be pushed aside with an excuse, denied to the fullest extent.

“Your job is to follow any order I give to you, correct?” The scion seemed a bit more serious then usual.
“THAT IS CORRECT.” The words rolled off her tongue easily, and she gave a slight nod of her head. “---Unless you ask me to destroy a country; then I might have to decline.” A bit of humor was added- not to undercut his serious nature, but rather to make sure he knew that she was receptive and ready to listen.

SHE KNOWS IT MUST SOUND SILLY OF HER- after all, weren't such things merely superstition? And yet, she cannot help the slight unease at all she has heard about the wooden boards, and finds it best to not tangle with what she does not understand. There is a curiosity, of course; an intrigue, a desire to see if this is simple trickery for the purpose of entertainment, or truthfully some sort of gateway into communication with the deceased. Better judgement tells her that she will not be happy with either outcome, and as such it is pointless to engage.
"Not chills," she says matter-of-factly, running gloved digits over the edge of one of the chairs ( she makes a mental note: chairs in need of repair ). "I simply have my reserves; nothing more." She pauses in her assessment of the chair, however, to consider the offer. While still not entirely comfortable with the fact, Kirumi suspects there to be no harm in observing, once, what this was all about. The maid holds back the sigh that threats to escape her, turning towards her classmate with a serious but perhaps slightly defeated look.
"But...you have gone through the trouble of wanting to show me, and I would be lying if I denied there being some small level of intrigue. I will accept the offer to stay and observe, so long as we come to the agreement that I am free to leave at any time I wish. You may be used to such things, Shinguuji-kun, but I am not. I apologize for my hesitance..." She motions for him to sit, eyes trailing around the darkened room one last time before she, too, takes a seat. This room is unsettling- and she suspects she's likely to be more unsettled by the end of all of this...
SO I KNOW I’VE STILL GOT 2 OR 3 DRAFTS...But I’d like to try and put out a starter call again, since it’s been a while. So hit that ♥ for something over the next few days???

“ No talking. Just get on with whatever you were doing — peasant “
THE MAID IS MORE THAN USED TO DEALING WITH THIS SORT OF CLIENTELE- as such, his choice of words and demand request don’t seem to bother her in the slightest. She knows that simply doing her work to the best of her ability ( that is to say, that being practically perfect ) will eventually win her more recognition than the name “peasant.” It is a process- it happens often with new clients. When Toujou has earned her worth to him, she may even be able to get a sentence in.
There is a polite nod of her head, a professionally neutral expression painted upon her features. She sets back to her task, only letting out an exhale when her employer has left the room.
“ I got you to look after me, and you got me to look after you, and that’s why. ”
Classic Lit Sentence Starters
SHE GIVES A GENTLE LAUGH. It is somewhat hesitant, somewhat bashful- but it is clear by the smile upon her features that she’s willing to accept the answer. It doesn’t help to ease all of her worries…but it is difficult to continue to focus on such when it is clear that he is at peace with things.
“I suppose it is hard to argue with such logic, isn’t it?”
Perfectionism is not self-improvement. Perfectionism is, at its core, about trying to earn approval and acceptance. Most perfectionists were raised being praised for achievement and performance (grades, manners, rule-following, people-pleasing, appearance, sports). Somewhere along the way, we adopt this dangerous and debilitating belief system: I am what I accomplish and how well I accomplish it.

GREEN HUES WIDEN AT HIS CONFESSION. It was a break in her professional front, and for a moment she almost acts on her emotions. In the past few weeks, Toujou had found herself quite content with Amami’s company. He provided interesting conversation, he treated her as a equal, he had a heart of gold and unrivaled cleverness. Soon enough, however, she reigns herself in; forces herself to gain composure, to extinguish whatever might have followed in her shock.
A slow exhale passes pale lips, and she closes her eyes. “I am flattered,” she says softly. “But...before you make such statements, you must be certain. Certain of your reasons, why such developed, and if this is truly the course of action you wish to take.” She keeps herself out the equation- best to leave it that way for the time being, she thinks.
A small portion of some of my favourite quotes from classic literature. Feel free to change and adjust them to your needs!
“ I have been bent and broken, but - I hope - into a better shape. ” “ Don’t cry, I’m sorry to have deceived you so much, but that’s how life is. ” “ I am fearless, and therefore powerful. ” “ Why are women so much more interesting to men than men are to women? ” “ Happiness in intelligent people is the rarest thing I know ” “ Unless he is suffering, how can you be sure that he is obeying your will and not his own? ” “ I have great faith in fools - self-confidence my friends will call it. ” “ Do you know where the wicked go after death? ” “ Actually that’s my secret — I can’t even talk about you to anybody because I don’t want any more people to know how wonderful you are. ” “ Will you love me in December as you do in May? ” “ Hell is empty and all the devils are here! ” “ Believe only half of what you see and nothing that you hear. ” “ You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you. ” “ I have gone to the forest. ” “ I got you to look after me, and you got me to look after you, and that’s why. ” “ One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well. ” “ Experience is merely the name men gave to their mistakes. ” “ If you want to keep a secret, you must also hide it from yourself. ” “ The truth is rarely pure and never simple. ” “ Power is in inflicting pain and humiliation. ” “ Some are born great, others achieve greatness. ” “ I didn’t mean no harm. ” “ My life has the tendency to fall apart when I’m awake, you know? ” “ If I cannot inspire love, I will cause fear! ” “ And now that you don’t have to be perfect, you can be good. ” “ I want to ruin you ” “ What is hell? I maintain that it is the suffering of being unable to love. ” “ To die laughing must be the most glorious of all glorious deaths! ” “ If I knew myself, I’d run away. ”

AMAMI (horriblesurvivor)
Hearing what she offered to him, the survivor couldn’t help but let his original smile come back. It was a distraction, something to keep him from the voice from inside his head about how much of a bad brother he was. Running his fingers through his hair before rubbing the back of his head he gave a small nod to her.
“Can I be selfish and take both the company and the lesson? I much rather not be alone.” His smile turned into that of a cheeky grin, he didn’t want to come off as flirtatious but he enjoyed seeing people’s reaction to this sort of thing. It wasn’t his fault.
“TAKING BOTH IS HARDLY SELFISH. Both offers were put out to you, after all.” She professionally refrains from giving a giggle- but the slight undertone of amusement may be heard in the maid’s voice. Immediately, she sets to pulling out what will be needed for the meal, moving around the kitchen with all the grace and elegance Toujou normally held. When she’s gotten out what they’ll need to begin, she removes her gloves and sets to washing her hands.
“...It’s been said that talking about what troubles a person can help ease the thoughts and emotions, even if only temporarily. Suppose it depends on the person...” She doesn’t look up from the sink as she speaks, running her hands under the warm water and scrubbing them vigorously. It is a nudge in one direction, but gentle enough that it need not be taken up if he finds himself uncomfortable with the idea.
“I love it when the trees change.”
Autumn/Halloween Sentence Starters
“IT IS RATHER PRETTY, ISN’T IT? The varied gradient of the colors is wonderful. Even better when it matches the sky, be it sunrise or sunset.” There is a light harm that follows her statement, before the blonde returns her attention to the dishes in the sink. “I’m lucky enough to see such a sight when I come in to make breakfast in the mornings. A small luxury, I suppose.”
