Modern Day Feminism

LOL you say feminism isn’t needed today and then go on to say men only earn more money because they work harder and longer. That is the most sexist thing I have heard today. I know a lot of women who work just as long and hard and do not receive anywhere near equal recognition or pay. Look it up. Do research before stating ignorant, sexist claims. Feminism isn’t about attacking men, it is about equality between sexes. Of course I would care if a man gets raped as well. But the fact is women are far more likely to be raped (1 in 6 women are raped in America). And I definitely do not agree that women can be masculine and always socially accepted. You’re calling me a hypocrite yet you’re saying feminism isn’t needed today and then go on to perpetuate a series of sexist claims that have no validation. Bye.

I am not as familiar with the US constitution seeing as I am Canadian- but I know that even if it was in the US constitution, it still wouldn’t mean that the sexist patriarchal society we live in would seize to exist. Just like racism continues to exist and religious hate crimes. Of course, gender without a doubt should be in the constitution, but we need to do MORE than that. That really is ridiculous that it is not (if this is true). Like so ridiculous I am in disbelief! Ugh.

I could go on forever on this, but I think I will end on this note: Feminism has the belief of EQUALITY of the sexes- and does not seek superiority over men. 

I think that it is a generalization/wrong to say that all men are seduced by what they see and women are seduced by what they hear. It makes men seem like passive people who cannot control themselves around women when they "dress" appealing, which gives the basis to excuse rape and blame women. This contributes to rape culture. Also, women can still have dignity even if they are just wearing underwear- clothing does not determine this. We shouldn't be telling women what they can and cannot wear. Women can wear what they want. We shouldn't be forced to dress "modestly" in order to reveal our dignity to men. I don't dress the way I do for men. And shouldn't have to. I dress how I want. Last but not least- by saying that women are only seduced by what they hear rather than see is very stereotypical and alludes to the viewpoint that women are not sexual beings. I for one can be seduced from what I see. I find your claims to be very old fashioned, stereotypical, and sexist.

I don't really know what you mean by this. I believe that women should do as they please and dress as they please without having to be stereotyped or seen as an inferior person. Ex. If I decide to wear revealing clothes I don't think I should be seen as a less worthy person than someone who wears non revealing clothing.

There are different waves of feminism that in the past have ignored race, social economic status, transgenders, homosexuals, etc. of women and instead largely focused on middle/upper class white women. So basically progressive in that I believe in an inclusive feminist ideology.

Hi there. Feminism to me is the equality of the sexes, in every way. It is to bring awareness and fight against oppression of women, gendered-based violence, sexism in all arenas of life (work, media, police, law, etc.), and rape culture. I could go on more, but there is a word limit on this!
