I loved the a-historical exhibited way that Korean traditional art and contemporary art were exhibited in the same room. The technology used in the museum was futuristic and inspiring. Staffs of the museum were wearing stylish pale cream colored uniform and looked like k-pop idols matching with the atmosphere of the museum. “The Storyteller” Last year, I’ve been to Seoul, Korea, at the first time. I have desired to go to Korea for a long time but I couldn’t have managed my schedule. Seoul inspired and stimulated me a lot! All the scenery seemed like a set of Korean drama. There were a lot of stylish cafes and I ordered ice americano. It was so much fun and every food was so good! I was short of time and energy so I got drained. “He came.” The Christmas card that I made provided me an old saying. I drew an illustration of piano and daffodils which reminded me my piano teacher. I learned from her about 25 years ago when I lived in London. My mom is still keeping touch with her and sent a Christmas card to her. She wrote back to us and told about an old saying of a robin. Robin is a national bird of Britain. The saying is when someone significant for you passes away, the soul of the person will come back to your place as a figure of robin caring you. I noticed there are a lot of robin motifs in Christmas cards but I didn’t know hidden meaning of it. Dealing with grief is hard and feel like you are trapped in an endless tunnel. And as you get older and meet many people, the number of parting gets larger. At every moment, someone you met is passing away and you never gonna meet them again. I sometimes feel if I could lose all the memories of the past, that is the only way to be rescued from deep depression. But at the same time, I feel, if you don’t forget him, you can meet him no matter when or where you are. Maybe there are no parting so I hold on to old memories kept in my mind palace. There is also a joy of reunion in life. Surprisingly, I met my old friend I haven’t met him for almost 10 years. We have to part to reunite. Meeting is beginning of parting.
