Yet Kung Lao was so eager for his touch. His lips were like fierce heat, sinful and consuming, especially when they wrapped around him. In an instant, they brought him to a peak he had never reached before. The sharp, delicious sensation shook him to his core, golden sparks flickering behind his eyelids as an electrifying feeling licked up his spine, leaving him a trembling puddle at the Fire God’s mercy. It was so different from touching himself, it felt addictive. His shyness and insecurities—about whether he was pleasant to look at, if his expressions or voice were right—battled inside him, and he had never felt so pinned under Lord Liu Kang’s bright, glowing blue eyes. It was almost as if the Fire God was seeing more than just his skin, peering directly into his soul.
In normal circumstances, such intense scrutiny might scare him, but it didn’t. Whether it was because he was a god or not, Liu Kang’s presence was soothing, calming the storm brewing in his heart and mind whenever their gazes met. The world around him seemed to fall silent for a moment. He felt calm and safe during Liu Kang’s visits, whether after Kung Lao returned from the market, walked through the forest to gather mushrooms or fruits for dinner, came back from a successful hunt—if he was lucky—or collected herbs for Madame Bo’s tea that Fujin enjoyed so much. It almost felt as though the Fire God was more interested in him as a person than in his body, which seemed ridiculous to think, but this had been going on for a month now.
