that's probably true but it also depends on what you're watching/playing/reading. there are certainly pieces of media that are primarily about women but *for some reason* those tend to not be as popular in fandom spaces as stuff that centers men. off the top of my head you've got buffy the vampire slayer, revolutionary girl utena, gilmore girls, derry girls, golden girls, girls, girlfriends, sex and the city, hacks, big little lies, bad sisters, i may destroy you, orphan black, yellowjackets, a league of their own, hell even the pitt has a pretty damn big female cast. unfortunately a lot of the shows i've mentioned do focus primarily on cis white women (though not all of them!) but there's also a lot more than i'm capable of coming up with on the spot at 2am. the point i'm making is that there is media, even popular and beloved and critically acclaimed media, that centers women. i know this is the supernatural website and all, but thankfully not all media is supernatural, and trust me there are a lot of women centered stories out there!
