“oh— yeah, I am. do you work here?” he asks curiously, because the other isn’t wearing a uniform. not that it really matters as long as someone helps him. “I’m not sure what paint is good. it’s a gift; I am… not at all artistically inclined.” you can say that again. a shiver runs down his spine remembering the time he accidentally stuck one of his photos to his elbow whilst trying to add to his scrapbook. embarrassingly, he’d spent ten minutes looking for it before he realised. “do you know about this stuff?”

xing never really talked to strangers, but he felt really bad for this one.. and there wasn’t a lot of staff members in the store at the moment so he decided to help out. 

the boy shook his head and smiled, “no I don’t work here.. but i still know a lot about art and all this stuff!”

he let out a quiet laugh, “It’s okay if you’re not artistically inclined.. You just have to know a couple things!”

xing then picked out some colors that were in front of the man and looked at him, “if you want to find good paint, you have to know what type of art you want to do! in this case, what type of art does your gift recipient like to do?”

“What makes you think you won’t lose your job anyway? I mean, I have serious complaints about service quality as of now” He scooted a little closer to the male and whispered. “what you might wanna know first, though, is how I know what you’ve been doing. Because you have obviously been found out by someone. What you might also wanna think really hard on - is do you want to make an enemy out of me, and, assuming I am more than a bark, do you have any protection from gangs, any contingency plans? How about that?” 

xing was terrified. he could tell this person was someone from a gang. 

he watched as the man slid money across the table and he sighed before pouring him his drink. 

he poured some ice grabbed the whiskey bottle, pouring it into the cup and gently sliding it over to him. 

“there you go sir.. and I don’t drink.. im allergic to alcohol…” 

he was starting to feel his legs shake in fear, it was terrifying as is and he never thought a gang member would figure out that he steals. 

xing continued cleaning up the glasses in front of him and his eyes widened as the man spoke. 

he was either going to die that night, or he was going to get fired. 

“just stop please. you already scared me enough sir.” he said softly, “i’ll do it, but please. dont ask me to do this again…” 

his legs were shaking even more and he could see his hands were shaking too. this is why he didn’t like seeing or meeting gang people, it just terrified him.

“Little bird told me you have deft hands” he murmurs, his smile turning a bit wicked, Sanghun leans closer over the counter and murmurs “See that guy, in the dark blue suit, with one of our girls? She will distract him and pass you his wallet, I need you to go there and take it from her very discreetly and bring it to me. Don’t worry, we’ll put it back before the night will end. You will put it back that is. No harm, no foul.” 

xing was tired. seriously he was. he wasn’t able to get his tea in the morning he had 6 classes, he lost his history of art essay and has to retype it.

oh how he wishes that he could start the day over. sadly, that would need some sort of witchcraft to do though. 

after he got back home, he realized his laptop in his professor’s class. 

this really wasn’t the best day for him, was it? and now he had to get ready for work at the Grotto. 

he quickly got dressed, ruffled his hair and grabbed his backpack and headed to the Grotto for work. 

Once he started his shift, it was just the same old costumers, asking for the same old drinks. just the same old routine. 

that was until this man came in. he slid money across the counter and xing was about to take it and ask for his order until he said that. 

it was a surprise to him that he asked that of him. who had told him he was a good thief? 

right now he couldn’t steal, or else he may lose his job… and he couldn’t have that! the salary he gets at Bimil Convenience isn’t enough for him to pay off his rent and get his needed items such as food and water, and art doesn’t help too.
