Ever since I did an analysis of Milverton's study desk, I wanted to do something similar with his Hampstead manor as well. So here we go with this new strange hyperfixation regarding him.

The architecture of the manor is closer to the classic style of Georgian architecture opposed to the more assymetrical Victorian one (at the same time, his manor near Brighton was clearly Victorian). The building seems to have three floors (plus most likely the basement and the attic). Milverton's study is on the highest floor, at the side - and his bedroom is most likely the one with the balcony, as Milverton's bedroom had a balcony at Brighton as well and he is a man of tendencies. Whether his bedroom and study is connected with a door here is unclear, in the ACD canon, they were. (However, here, it's most likely not since Sherlock, when he explored the manor, left the study at last and he didn't go there from the bedroom.) The entrance is from the street's direction and Milverton's study looks at the garden.

The garden is bordered by a huge stone fence and the gate is wrought-iron. Both of them definitely have safety purposes as well. In the ACD canon, Milverton kept a dog in the garden, here, he doesn't. But he has a quite pretty garden with cut-to-shape bushes and well-kept trees. There is also a well in the garden. I am unsure where he parks his carriage (which seems to be bulletproof, again for safety purposes) and the horses, probably somewhere at the back of his estate.

We don't see too much places in the manor outside his study. He can go straight upstairs from the hall which seems to have connections to the servants' deparment as well. Milverton's personal quarters are upstairs, but whether places like the dining hall or the living room is there, too, is left to speculation. His bathroom and dressing room is definitely near to his bedroom. As Milverton doesn't have a butler and Ruskin deals with his personal things, Ruskin's bedroom is probably close, too, and since Milverton is serious about his safety, I would say Harry and Gosling's room as well (I imagine that they would share a room).

Back to the hall, it is solid and at the same time, nicely decorated. Milverton doesn't overdo the fanciness like nobles, but he likes pretty things. We see paintings in both in his study and the hall (paintings of landscapes).

The corridors have built-in lamps in the wall and there are carpets everywhere. What we see from the servants' working places is practical and decent. Milverton seems to not employ too many people aside of Ruskin, Harry and Gosling, when the plumbing incident happened, only three maids tried to deal with the situation, whether there are more people or not is unclear. (There must be at least a gardener who sometimes drops by and keeps the garden in check, the bushes are professional work.)

And we get to the study where Milverton spends most of his time. As I already analyzed the things on the desk, I will leave those out. The desk is near the windows because he likes to look outside while he gives an evil speech. He has a turning chair with little wheels, and two sofas and a smoking table in the middle where we see Harry and Gosling giving their reports, but probably, if Milverton has a guest, they invite them in his study (or into the living room - if he has a living room - but for business matters, he definitely uses the study. It is unclear whether he invites his clients related to his blackmail matters there like in the ACD canon.) He also has a lot of books on bookshelves behind glasses. His desk and the wood of the wall is matching. He also has a plant in the corner of his study and a vase with a bouquet of daffodils in front of the study door. Based on these, the garden and the fact that his countryside villa is next to the sea with a lot of trees, Milverton definitely likes nature.

There is one more thing worth to note in his study - the wallpaper. I already analyzed the moon motives and the possible meaning of it, but I will bring back that theory here, too. In the Victorian era, the moon motive was connected to femininity and symbolized female empowernment. So it can be speculated that Milverton might bought his manor from a woman, or at least, that room belonged to a woman once. Maybe it belonged one of his female victims in the past and he chose it because the fact that his house/study once belonged to someone he ruined excited him. It would be a very Milverton thing to do to buy someone's home who went bankrupt because of him - but of course, this is just a theory.

YOUR HAPPY MARRIAGE

The Reader is the daughter of a late American businessman. You get married to Charles Augustus Milverton, but can you be happy together?

It is the most beautiful day of your life. You stand before the altar on the side of the man you will soon tie yourself to in the sacred bond of marriage. You wear a beautiful white dress - when you came in, he whispered into your ear that you look breathtaking in it. The blush after his praise is still on your cheeks. Behind you, the crowd of guests are waiting to see the ceremony. You don't care about them, only the man next to you matters.

Charles Augustus Milverton.

The memories run over you about the day you met. You recently came over from the United States after the death of your father. You have no family, but you are not entirely lost. You inherited his wealth and the media company he owned. Before he died, he made you promise that you would be careful since a lot of people will try to get close to you to get a taste of your money and influence. You are obedient and you are cautious when you form relationships. You know that you can't trust anyone, but you feel lonely. Then, you were invited to a ball. You accepted the invitation, not knowing that it would change your life forever.

Your gaze immediately falls to the man standing in the corner when you step into the ballroom. He is elegantly dressed and he has curly, silver hair, but he doesn't look old. You are curious who he is. He doesn't act like the rest of the guests as if he was not even a noble. You wish to talk to him, but you don't get the chance for it yet. You find another companion who tells you his name. Of course you heard about him before, from your late father. He is Charles Augustus Milverton who is in the same business as your father was. Newspapers, media, marketing. It is a familiar field for you. This increases your wish to engage in a discussion with him. He must have felt the same, because it is him who ends up approaching you. You are soon in the middle of an interesting conversation. You naturally let your guard down around him, you have no reason to be wary. He surely doesn’t want anything from you. He is richer than you and has more power. He is the first person you start to develop trust for ever since your father died. And when his golden eyes meet yours, your heart begin to beat faster. After the ball ends, you know that you want to see him again. And this is mutual.

A day after that, he sends you an invitation. You meet in a café and your conversation continues. He is a fun and intellectual companion with a sense of humor which is able to make you laugh. This is the first time you laugh since your father's death. His voice is soft and gentle and it makes your loneliness fade away. You suddenly realize that with him, you would never feel lonely and he can make you happy. But... can you make him happy as well?

As more and more you see each other, you learn the answer. One day, he invites you to his own home. You feel that it will be a special occasion. He seems to like you, his beautiful golden eyes shine differently when you are around him and there is always a smile on his face when he looks at you. Once, you notice a pink line on his cheeks when he kisses your hand. The signs are clear, so you prepare for your evening together with excitement. You hope that he asks the question - and you already know what you would say to him.

Yes.

Your assumption is right. After the dinner, he approaches you with a diamond ring and asks if you would marry him. You take his hand and just kiss him as an answer. He kisses you back, your lips fuse in passion. You wrap your arms around his neck, you want him here and now, but you need to wait until the wedding. Fortunately, he doesn't want to wait too much. Your engagement time only lasts until he arranges everything regarding the marriage and handles all the necessary contracts which you need for your shared life.

But the day of the wedding is finally here.

"Will you take the woman present here, to be your wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; and be faithful to her until death parts you?" You hear the priest say, but you don't look at him, you watch your groom who will soon be your husband. He looks dashing in his suit, his silver hair seems to shine brighter than ever before. You can't wait for the time when you can take his clothes down and make his hair messy. It felt like you already waited long enough. He is your other half. You finally want your bodies to become one, just like your lips did.

"Yes, I will." He answers. You see the sparks in his golden eyes. He glances at you wishfully. After the priest finishes the speech, it is your turn to make the vow.

"Yes, I will." You say and lean close to him. You can kiss him now as his wife. You don't doubt that you will be happy for the rest of your life while he is on your side. Your first kiss as a married couple is incredibly sweet. The guests are cheering for you when your mouths separate. You get lost in the depth of that breathtaking gold.

After the ceremony is over, there is a short celebration, then you retreat to your room. It is the most beautiful night. He holds you and kisses you while you cause pleasure to each other. When you twine one of the locks of his curly hair around your finger, it feels like a ring on its own. You feel safe with him. After everything, you fall asleep in his arms.

As you consummated the marriage and made it legal, it is time to go to your honeymoon. He wants to take you to France, to see Paris. You have never been there before and you are overjoyed that you can explore it on his side, hand in hand. Your trip will be long, but every minute is an adventure. You first take the carriage. You sit on his side and he holds your hand. You watch the sight from the window, then you turn back to him. He smiles at you and draws you closer. You close your eyes and kiss him again. Your heart beats fast when his lips touch yours. You sink into his warmth.

When you look at him again, he is still smiling. But this smile is somewhat different than what you got used to. You never saw him smile like this before. It scares you. And his eyes... the pupil of his beautiful golden eyes became sharp. He suddenly reminds you of a snake.

You know that something changed between you - but what?

"Charles?" You try to evade, but he grabs your hand and holds it stronger. His fingers are cold, just like his voice when he talks to you.

"We had a fun time, darling. But eventually, every fun time comes to an end." He says and his smile broadens. "Our end is here now."

You let out a cry when the pain strikes your body. You look down. You can't believe what you see. A knife dives into your flesh - and the one who keeps the hilt is him. He stabbed you... and he seems to enjoy what he is doing. The love and gentleness that you always saw on his face disappeared. It is like looking at a completely different person, but you quickly realize that you just see his true self.

The man Charles Augustus Milverton really is. A manipulator. A killer. A snake.

You want to ask why, but what comes out of your mouth is blood. He watches it with satisfaction. He pushes the knife deeper into your body. The world starts to whirl around you. You only see him clearly. Him - and his cold, cruel, serpent eyes.

"You definitely want to know about my reasons." He starts cheerfully. "I am already one of the most powerful people of this country, but that's why I wanted to expand my propaganda in the United States as well. I needed an American media company, something which I can make my branch firm. This was the easiest way to get it. One of the contracts you signed before our wedding was a provision that the company you own will also be put under my name after we are married and it becomes mine if you die. Accidents can happen - just like robberies, especially on this road. I was able to get away in time, but my beautiful wife was unfortunately stabbed by a criminal. Tomorrow, this will be on the cover pages of all the papers in London." He explains it to you and he lets out a chuckle. "Finally, my dream can come true... thanks to you, my darling."

Your mind is dizzy, but you are able to understand him at last... you are able to see through him. Your father warned you, he tried to protect you from people like him... but you were careless and utterly stupid. You trusted the wrong person and it will cost your life. It is painful - but not as painful as his betrayal. That the man you loved from your heart only viewed you as a tool, a stepping stone to his goal.

You didn’t mean anything else to him.

A tear runs down on your face. You start to cough. More blood pours from your mouth. He is still smiling. You just wish that everything soon turns dark and you will not see this smile.

"You see, my darling..." He speaks and his voice is soft again, bringing back the joyful memories. "There is one thing about power. It can never be enough."

He leans towards you and kisses you, licking down the blood from your lips. As your body slowly becomes cold, you see it again. The first meeting. The first touch. The first kiss. The wedding vows you made. The first - and only night.

You seemed to be happy together.

Today is World Snake Day, so I thought I will do a fitting analysis for Yuumori's very own snake, Charles Augustus Milverton. The snake symbol is connected to him on four different levels and I will going to analyze them here.

THE ORIGINAL SIN

The first one is related to Milverton's favourite tale from the Bible, the Original Sin. There, the first humans who were forbidden to taste the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, was tempted by the snake to try out which led to the downfall of the entire humanity. This is the event where Milverton roots back the nature of pure evil - temptation - and his greatest pleasure that just like the snake did once, making people fall for the temptation and sin. Yuumori works with a lot of religious symbolism - and Milverton is symbolyzed by that snake from the Bible.

HIS MANIPULATION

William James Moriarty's manipulation is symbolized by spiderweb around his victims - and Milverton's manipulation and treachery is symbolized by snakes as we see them during the Dark Knight chapter, around Whiteley whom he successfully tempted to sin. This also shows the difference between William's "evil" and Milverton's evil. Unlike spiderwebs, the symbol of the snake is directly connected to evil in the series.

HIS APPEARANCE

Milverton is not just symbolized by snakes, he even resembles one. With his white hair, unnaturally white skin and yellow eyes what has a snake-like needle thin pupil when he is at his most evil, he is like a white snake - not even mentioning the poison he spills into everyone's mind with his media manipulation.

CONAN DOYLE CANON REFERENCE

In the ACD canon, Sherlock Holmes compares Milverton to a snake, showing that he is the one who disgusts him the most. Comparing Milverton to a snake by a character is present in Yuumori, too, but here, it is Miss Hudson who calls Milverton a snake.

The matter of the ashtray.

The fan translation and the official one gave different explanations to the Sherlock/violin/Milverton matter, whether Sherlock used the fake violin (which became Ruskin's victim) as an ashtray or he hid his real violin because Milverton destroyed his favourite ashtray once. It would make sense to believe the official translation more, but I am aware of a few things in the MTP manga that VIZ didn't translate right, so I left the question open. Google translate couldn't give me anything sensible, but as yesterday I reread the chapter again, I decided to put the phrase through some other translators and this finally helped me uncover the mystery.

The last chapter was quite shocking and I still don't know how will I resist the urge of getting myself hibernated until the next one. Probably, trying to put together a theory with recalling some old ones.

From here, spoiler and a lot of ramblings.

That is definitely Harry, Milverton's former bodyguard who approached Louis. And the person who is teased with the last panel is the one who can be behind the new Lord of Crime's reveal.

FUTURE'S SHARED CRIME

You are the secret lover of Charles Augustus Milverton. One of your loved ones betrayed you, so you feel down - but Charles knows how to cheer you up in his own way.

The day is coming to its end. It becomes darker and darker as the sun slowly sets on the horizon, the last sunbeams shine into the study and playfully dance in your lover’s silver, curly hair locks. It is a beautiful sight, you can see it well from the sofa, but unfortunately, your mood is too dark to appreciate it to its fullest. You have a perfect life with Charles and you are rarely troubled - but now, you are.

That has nothing to do with your relationship - luckily, it is harmonical despite the fact that you are in a relationship with the feared King of Blackmail. You wait for Charles to finish his work and hope that he will distract you from the disappointment you recently needed to face. The betrayal of one of your loved ones,  person you have trusted - but it was clearly just in vain.

You used to be so close, before they turned against you and stabbed you in the back. It is painful and you don't understand why they even acted like that. You haven't done anything to deserve it. But it hurts you more that after all you had gone through together, they betrayed your trust like you were nothing. You watch Charles from the corner of your eyes. You know that he can definitely cheer you up, but you don't want to bother him with your problems. He is in the middle of an evil plan again and he clearly enjoys it. You don't want to ruin his bright mood.

You force a normal expression onto your face when he looks up from the papers. He is done with the plotting for today. He starts packing everything away. You can feel that he glances at you even before he speaks to you. You don't want him to notice anything, so you smile when he finally stands up and approaches you. Your smile is not fake. You are glad that at least he pays attention to you.

"Does the project go well?" You ask when he sits down next to you.

"Yes." He nods with satisfaction. "I will soon set it to motion." He announces it passionately. You are happy for him.

"It is great." You say. He curiously looks into your eyes. His golden gaze slightly changes in the next moment.

"Something troubles you." He can deduce it immediately. You are actually not surprised. He was always able to read in your heart perfectly. "What is it? Tell me." He orders and he tilts his head, still staring at you like currently you are the most interesting in the world.

"It doesn't matter." You answer. "Trivial problems." You add. You don't want him to see you as weak.

"I can see that for you, it is not trivial." He shakes his head. "So, tell me. I want to know. And don't try to lie - you already learned that it is worthless when it comes to me."

His voice is gentle but demanding. You feel that he takes your hand. It makes you blush a bit. You are aware that he is determined to find out the truth and he always gets what he wants. You actually don't want to fight him. It makes you feel better that he wants to learn about your problem. But you are somewhat wary of his reaction. You don't want to experience another disappointment if he doesn’t take you seriously.

Yet, you inhale a breath and start talking. You see no malice in his eyes as he listens to you, only care - he doesn't cut into your speech, he waits until you finish the entire tale. You know that he is a really good manipulator and can make himself seem like what he wants people to believe about him - but now, you can feel that he is genuine. In your presence, he never pretends because he doesn't need to.

"I see." He says at the end of your speech. He hasn't done anything else yet, but you already feel that the weight rolled down from your heart. It still stings, but not as much as it did before. "Well, you are better off without them. They don't deserve your attention." He adds and you can agree with him on that. However, he didn't finish what he wanted to say. "I don't want to see you in a bad mood because of them. I will research them in depth and get their weak points. It will be a pleasure to ruin their life in return for what they had done to you."

His tone is filled with anger as he tells you that and there is a threatening smile at the corner of his mouth. You turn redder for the thought that he doesn't only listen to you, he also wants to help you. In his own way.

"It is not necessary, Charles, but thank you." You reply and put your hand onto the hand that holds yours. Charles' eyes shine up and with his other arm, he brings you closer to himself.

"It is necessary." He clarifies vehemently. “They should be punished for hurting what is mine."

His tender possessiveness makes your heart beat faster. You sink into his warmth. You don't feel alone nor sad anymore. His embrace is comforting. Your problem truly feels trivial after having him so close. You lean to his face and give him a grateful kiss.

"In that case... we will ruin them together." You whisper. It sounds like a fun idea, to finally commit a shared crime. Something that ties you together even stronger. You lost one important bond - but the other is more powerful than ever.

Charles chuckles and his excitement visibly grows.

"I am glad to hear that you want that." He nods. "I don't doubt that it will be entertaining."

With that, he pulls your head close again and this time, he is the one who kisses you. You feel the taste of poison in your tongue as your lips fuse, the taste of his evil, but you know that it will not cause you harm.
