What mainly strikes me as the difference between how men and women speak is the sense of entitlement men have towards women’s bodies. Their pleasure comes not only from sexual arousal, but from a sense of cultural supremacy. Conquering, possessing, purchasing a woman in this way is synonymous with “being a man,” and the stories are tales of braggadocio as much as they are confessions. Men’s sense of their own status is so intertwined with the hotness (and compliance) of the women and girls they sleep with that it’s impossible to translate it into any parallel ways of thinking in women. Men’s dominance is normalized and sexualized, and women’s objections to it are seen as humorless, prudish, uptight, and on the wrong side of politics.
