I'm so fucking sick of being the one my boss thinks she can call in whenever:
"I hate to ask but can you come in for 4 hours on Sunday?"
NO! NO I CAN'T! LEAVE ME ALONE!
I had an awful TMJ migraine flareup on Saturday; vomiting, shaky, can't stand lights or smells, the whole bit. That whole afternoon she's texting and FB messaging me trying to get me to cover Sunday morning, even 30 minutes before I would have had to have been in. "We have family in town and X has a family thing and Y is sick and Z can't work Sundays anymore a bloo hoo hoo"
I DON'T FUCKING CARE!
YOU OWN THE BUSINESS! YOU MIGHT HAVE TO WORK THERE SOMETIMES! EVEN WHEN YOU HAVE FAMILY IN TOWN! YOU! OWN! THE! BUSINESS! WHY ARE YOU BOTHERING ME, SOMEONE WHO WORKS 45 HOURS A WEEK AND IS FREQUENTLY LEFT ON MY OWN? YOUR ONLY FULL TIME DAY SHIFTER?
AND WHY THE ACTUAL FUCK AREN'T YOU INTERVIEWING SOMEONE TO REPLACE THE LADY WHO LEFT A MONTH AGO?
I never ask for anything. I don't borrow money or house charge a ton of stuff every week. I don't take days off unless I'm feverish or vomiting. I take a payout end of year instead of my vacation. Part-timers call off whenever they are mildly inconvenienced, and she disrupts literally everyone else's schedules to accommodate them.
I just didn't answer the texts or DMs. That was probably a dick move on my part. And no, I did not and will not work on my days off. If she schedules me another 6-day-week I might just call that my notice and take the clinic next door's offer, even if it's a pay and hours cut. They get sick days and health insurance at least. Why do I feel guilty? ._. Like I'm doing something wrong. THIS IS STUPID.
