Oh yeah. Speaking of Backrooms 2026...
Did anyone else notice when Mary entered Clark's store near the climax of the movie, her hair was up and clean looking, but when she goes into the basement of the store and experiences flashbacks to Clark telling her about the Backrooms, the scene switches back to her and her hair is down and a bit more messy?
Here she is before she has the flashbacks.
And here she is immediately afterwards.
This could be a simple mistake, but I honestly think it works as perfect symbolism for Mary losing her professionalism. She's reaching a limit with Clark. She can't help no matter how hard she tries. Her hair going from clean and "professional" to just a bit more unkempt is a metaphor for her losing the little bit of professional patience she has in her.
Also keep in mind that every time we see her meet with Clark in her office, her hair is up. And that up until the climax of the movie, we've never seen her break that patient-therapist boundary with Clark. She doesn't visit or call him outside of work. She is extremely professional until the very end. And in the end, she snaps.
Mistake or intentional, I think this is a fun idea to chew on.
