Miss Puerto Rico

Live can mean a lot of things to each of us. However, is a key word to find a healthy living. I chose LIVE because, for me, is being yourself, doing what you love and being most of the time very active. Live equals happiness and by being happy you are emotionally healthy which is very important. 

 Top 3: 

 One of the things that young people love and after we are professionals and have priorities we forget is the SLEEP. We all need to rest our 7-9 hours a day. Of course, there are some weeks during the year that we don't sleep at all (in my case when I have finals) but, most of the time I do it. By sleeping those ours, I am full of energy and ready to exercises everyday at the gym, work, study and of course, have some FUN.

 I believe in eating EVERYTHING, I am not a fan of diets. Human body needs carbohydrates, protein, sugar and many other nutrients. I believe in having a BALANCE. Yes, I do eat my pizza some days. But, I have a control. Eating everything in a healthy way motivates me.

I studied in a military school for 9 years and when I was going to 10th grade I decided to change school because the military stuff was no longer my thing. 

In summer of 2009, I decided to explore the arts and learn other languages like French and Mandarin. So, when I moved from school, the one that I chose was part of a very important theater league in Puerto Rico (and had Mandarin, Italian and French in the curriculum). However, I did not had experience in acting, so in that first year at the school I decided not to do the audition (I was VERY scared) and "acting" in that school was really a BIG THING✨

 But everything changed on my second year (11th grade). I was very excited to audition but again, that fear was still there, so the week of the auditions I just decided not to do it (again). But, one of my friends made me do it. His name is Sedrick, he was also part of the theater league and he told me "you have what it takes, don't panic, is not that bad" but he also talked to the professor that was doing the audition so she can see me. So, I was in a little pressure bit most importantly I could not escape anymore. 

The rest is HISTORY.🌀 

On my senior year, I got another challenge regarding theater. My professor told me to write a script in order to compete with it in a new category of theater. I DID NOT HAD ANY EXPERIENCE WRITING A MONOLOGUE SCRIPT BEFORE. And again, I was a little scared, but this time I accepted the challenge. 

To tell the story short, I wrote the the script in less than 24 hours, which was impossible for a begginner. I won the national competition of best script and best dramatized monologue in English. 

Fun fact: In the picture you can see I am smiling But, I broke my hand while I was acting the monologue in the final round. (I hide my pain and nobody noticed, that’s why I had the pink sweater on my hand) Though, it was worth it. ✨🙌🏼👑 

Message to others: Trust yourself and DO IT. Do not fear of what others can say. YOU ARE TALENTED AND BEAUTIFUL👑 Go for it.

I love acting because:

 1. I can be who ever I wanted, like I wanted. 

2. I can be many people at the same time. 

3. I learn SO MUCH from my characters. 

4. In order to make a good character I need to know him/her so I read a lot about things that I haven't expected. 

Joe Namath said: "When you have confidence, you can have a lot of fun. And when you have fun, you can do amazing things.

Confidence is not "they will like me" confidence is "I'll be fine if they don't" In other words, confidence is the moment when you decide to be yourself because CONFIDENCE is more than a way of thinking, it's a lifestyle.

“I believe that everyday you can be inspire by something or someone”. By: Carole Rigual 

This will sound strange but everyday I wake up looking for something or someone that inspires me. I can tell that in the last few days: a man saying thank you, a smile on a children’s face when he eats, when you hear a person life experience or seeing someone do well in life are some of the things that has inspires me to keep going and be who I am today. That is why... WE SHOULD NOT limit ourselves to a few #inspireby, we should be always looking for something in our daily life that really inspires you. Have you eyes open, everyday you can learn and you can have something that you can feel inspire by.

 However, we all have one, two or maybe three #inspireby that never leaves the list. That is why I want to dedicate this #inspireby to my PARENTS . They are my fountain of energy, the reason why I smile, dance, swim, study and love. The reason I want to be a professional woman and the reason why I want to help others. They love me more than any other person in this world and I find that, something that I can be inspire by. 

What inspires you?

Esto sonará extraño pero cada día yo me levanto buscando algo o alguien que me inspire. Dentro del ajetreo diario he sabido apreciar lo que es un “gracias” y un “Buenos días”, una sonrisa de una niño que por fin tiene un plato de comida en la mesa, escuchar a alguien hablar sobre sus experiencias de vida o ver a alguien disfrutar bailar en tarima. Tú que lees este mensaje, no debes limitarte a solo algunos #inspiresby. Cada día, cada experiencia, cada problema es “algo” que te inspira ha ser mejor por más negativo que sea. SIEMPRE, SIEMPRE, SIEMPRE se puede sacar lo que te inspira a ser mejor persona o que inspira a progresar y eso incluye aquello que esté en nuestro día a día. 

Sin embargo, todos tenemos unos #inspiresby que siempre están en el tope de la lista, en mi caso en particular, MIS PADRES. Ellos son mi fuente de energía, la razón por la cual me levanto cada día, bailo, canto, actuo, estudio, leo, y sonrío. La verdadera razón por la cual siento ese deseo insaciable de ayudar a otros. Ellos me han enseñado a ser una persona de bien, una persona que ayude y ame al prójimo, al necesitado. Durante estos 22 años y 4 meses ha sido una razón suficiente para poder inspirarme a repartir ese amor a otros y ser mejor cada día.
