For how long we planned this page and for how early it is, Yellow spent WAY too long trying to figure out a fake name for him. There were like 10 trial names

There are so many ways we win.
1 day. In 1 day, on the 12th of April, 2026, my friends and I will be releasing a Homestuck fan comic, D*cide. Honestly, part of me doubted if we would ever get to this step. Part of my thought that it would just die in January. But it didn't, and we're actually doing this! We're making this happen. I'm so, incredibly proud of everyone involved.
Also I think that more people should eat popcorn shrimp
The Sun
one cool thing about having an autistic dad whose special interest is underwater spearfishing is that when he catches fish he'll just call up a nearby chinese restaurant like "hi. i caught a fish. can you cook it and i'll bring my family by?" and they're like "yeah sure come on over white boy" and the fish is delicious.
it's worth adding that my mom is chinese and she always gets embarrassed by this. like she doesn't want to come to the restaurant with us. she doesn't want to be seen with the white man she caught plus the fish that her white man caught. everyone who works at the restaurant thinks my dad is awesome and compliments him + her for choosing him and we all find this very fun except for her.
I really honestly truly cross my heart and hope to die wish that there was an actual One Step From Eden fanbase because what do you mean theres a sub triple digit amount of fics with this game

I don't mean to get all political here, but I don't understand how some people can hate rain world downpour so much. Like sure, some of the campaigns are pretty difficult, even for Rain World (looking at you Spearmaster), but that's really the only problem I see. Sure, it put lore into a new perspective, but what good dlc doesn't do that? I can really only see downpour as a masterpiece with 1 bad campaign
I mean, I think the main source of hatred towards downpour is because of the iterator dialogue in broadcasts. Their tone is very different from the main game, more normal, less mysterious. Seriously, read what pebbles says to surv the first time you meet him, and then read broadcasts. Those guys don't seem "godlike in comparison" anymore, don't they?
People hate downpour because it brings the otherworldly and complex lore and world building of this game closer to reality. By clarifying things, it simplifies them, if that makes sense. I think treating dp as semi-canon optional dlc it is is the best way to enjoy it.
That said, how dare you disrespect Spearmaster campaign, it's the best one
I can't wrap my primate brain around the broadcast stuff. Sure, their tone is more normal, but that's because they're friends. You'd speak to a squirrel that wandered into your yard differently than you'd speak to your friend. There's been examples of casual iterator before downpour, like NSH so flagrantly mentioning the void sea that he gets told off by moon.
I get that downpour shedding light on things makes it less mysterious, but I think that's a good thing. Sure, it leaves less things to the imagination, but it also allows for more educated interpretations of things. I'd go as far to say that it's actually very good for the iterator to have more sides of them shown. They're the main characters of rain world. It's good to know who your main characters really are.
Also Spearmasters campaign SUCKS and im sending it to Rubicon, it's just a series of fetch quests where, at the end of it, you can't even use your unique abilities to their full capabilities! And don't even get me started on the creature spawns
The iterators are city-sized supercomputers. The fact that they think and talk like a bunch of normal guys in a discord chat is what people dislike about downpour, I think. They're supposed to be... more than human, I guess.
Also, the details themselves are not the problem. It's how they make Rain World closer to the real world. Rain world has a bunch of interesting creatures, an alien civilization, and structures unlike anything we have on earth. Downpour confirms that some things work just like in our world, which makes them less interesting than some alternatives. Like, we know Rain World cosmology is weird, and it would be more boring if it worked the same as Earth.
That's why I hate that one specific room in Watcher's ancient urban (the window room). It's so mundane. It should have been weirder. But that's just my hot take, I haven't seen anyone else complain about this
Also, Spearmaster campaign is cool, infinite spears are amazing for more violent playstyle, Moon's final message is heart-wrenching and contrasts and completes Moon's Rivulet message so well. Looks to the Moon is one of my favorite regions, pre-collapse Moon is amazing. Also, I love broadcasts, I love iterator lore, and Spearmaster's campaign has the most of it. Without it, my fanfic would not exist.
The fact that you're sending it to Rubicon says a lot about which region in which campaign is really the most rage-inducing lmao
I can see that I guess. It's just not really downpour exclusive though. If someone's going to criticize that part of the downpour, they should criticize base Rain World for that. The only difference is that now, there are more iterators who talk like they're on Discord
And that's true I suppose. Truthfully, some things feel like too much of a real world analog, so I can get that. I liked the Ancient Urban room when I was going for the Spinning Top route, but looking back at it, it was a bit cheap. It's sorta like the ancient's silhouettes were revealed as shock value when before, they were mainly left up to interpretation besides for a few murals that didn't really give the player anything (in a good way)
Also I love the story of Spearmaster's campaign! I like the new lore, and it is really cool to explore Moon's inside and see a bunch of places that were seen in the base game, but functioning. It's really awesome, especially her final message and Pebbles reading the pearl (which honestly, I liked more than the final message). What I DO NOT like, however, is anything else about that mute rat's campaign. LTTM is kinda just FP again if you look at her before the luna or her inside. The vents are awful, there's way too many mother spiders, and the precipice is diabolical, especially considering that you're meant to go across it instead of going from the ground. That was meant for Artificer, not Spearmaster, and I couldn't even imagine traversing it for the pearl quest (I love passages)
Speaking of, THE PEARL QUEST. I hate it, not because it doesn't make sense story wise, but because it hinders your abilities so much. The main draw of Spearmaster is that you can hold two spears at once and pull infinite spears. Half of that gimmick is removed with the pearl. You're expected to always carry it, which means that you will never hold two spears until after the campaign is over. It doesn't even have a stomach cavity to hold the pearl! I wish you could just stuff the pearl back in it's chest or something. Good game design has you master your abilities, not take them away to give you a mcguffin that you have to deliver from point A to point B.
And yeah Rubicon sucks but it's my favorite circle of hell
you're telling me the girl who named herself after Rubicon likes Rubicon? crazy...
Guy who's name is popcorn:
The difference between you and I is that I hate popcorn actually

Why does ben look so soulful
I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE JANE CROCKER
Like yeah, I get it! She doesn't want Trolls to overpopulate everything because the infrastructure cant handle that. That's cool, responsible even! Good for her! STOP BEING A XENOPHOBIC PRICK ABOUT IT!!!!!!!! This isn't wanting the best for everyone, this is just being afraid of trolls and wanting to control every aspect of their lives. I hate this woman with every fiber of my being why is she so hot and why does Gamzee get to have her
