On the other side of Rio-Antirrio Bridge

Awaits the breathtaking Ionian Sea

A Trojan gift

You once brought to me.

With each fire you lit

The bridge between us grew wider and stronger,

Yet merely a one-way street,

We touched, and we instantly felt the blaze, An invisible thread some call the twin flames. Both awesome bliss and excruciating pain, Whatever our souls are made of, yours and mine were the same.

Picking up an old habit, half good and half bad,

To go out for a coffee and a walk in the park,

Fiercely resurfacing, as I pass by an old statue,

The abiding desire of writing to you…

I've known you in ways

Others didn't see fit

A lustful urge

You couldn't resist.

The sea and the sun

Write the forbidden tale

Of a perfect day on the beach

It was cold in the coffee shop; but then again, I'm always cold.

That's why I've never neglected the blanket, that's why I've got so quickly so old.

All I can think of is you, laughing at me in your T-shirt, covering me in kisses and sheets,

Invariably shutting the kitchen window and holding my hand on the streets.

Somehow summer was not your best friend, but it has always been mine,

And I look at the grounds now and I ask for a sign,

Of how much from your heart was love and how much it was ice,

About us, I'd say there were always two sides,

Different like the day and the night,

The peace and the warmth I have found in your arms,

And the torment of your silence, of all the what-if's and the why's.

One of the thoughts keeping me awake late at night

Is that we couldn't travel to the forest together, and I still don't know why.

We've talked about the secret path through the trees, but you've never come,

All the bridges are calling my name, To cross to another island, to walk on a different land, Rivers of rhymes, letters that will now burn, Lighting the way back from the point of no return.

In our first nights, we gazed at the stars together,

And I thought you see the same beauty as I, water and stone,

Yet here I am, at midnight, by the Lotru river,
