Rewind panicked. He shouldn’t have gone out into a battle alone, but he did. He had seen an opening and he took it.

And now he was paying for it. Rewind had apparently blacked out. How long had he been out? The Decepticons had long gone and from the sounds of it, so had the Autobots. He only just recently rebooting his comms— and he called the first mech he could think of.

:: Blaster! :: he cried out. No, panicking wouldn’t help the situation. He needed to stay calm and let Blaster know where he was. Let him know what happened. :: … I can’t feel my legs. ::

"No, we need to take a shuttle out of here." Blaster peeked around, then then snapped back when the seeker overhead shot at them again. "… I am beginning to think Ravage left you alive on purpose…" To trap him, to trap the rest of them. Because he wouldn’t leave Rewind behind.

Rewind felt like his energon ran cold. He tensed in Blaster’s arms as horror rushed through him.

"I lead you into a trap,” he whispered. “Primus, Blaster. I’m so sorry. If I had known, I wouldn’t have commed.”

"I don’t know Rewind-" He moved to shield him again as another explosion happened, Steeljaw roaring disapproval and firing back.

”- it is the cleanup squadron!” Blaster suddenly exclaimed. “Everyone, shelter!” He moved to take cover under something, still holding Rewind close.

Rewind ducked his head against Blaster's deck, not able to do anything except just cling on. He felt guilty for not being able to help, but he would end up in even more trouble than he was now if he even attempted to try.

"Are we close to the Ark?" he asked, sparing a moment to glance up at his host.

"Shhh." Blaster pressed Rewind close, as he signaled for the rest of his cassettes to move out. He ran through the rubble as best he could and carefully, considering Rewind’s state.

There was a blast again as they were targeted once more. Blaster moved so he could shield Rewind from the extra injury, some shrapnel getting embedded in Blaster’s back. ”The other direction! Move it!” He told his cassettes as they ran the way they came in.

When Rewind heard and felt the blast, he gasped and his grip on Blaster tightened. Hadn't the Decepticons left? Why were they still attacking? And he couldn't do anything to try and defend them like this.

"Blaster, who's attacking?" Rewind asked, trying to look around to the best of his ability. But he was essentially immobilized. He couldn't do much looking beyond what was right in front of him.

Rewind nodded. He wasn't sure how different things had been on his own Lost Light. If there had been many changes to their navigation. But he had been giving an update on everything that happened on this Lost Light, so he vaguely knew what Max was talking about. ❝Yeah, I'd like that.❞

Chromedome pulled Rewind back into his arms, cradling him as he stood up and moved back to his previous perch. He settled down, making sure to continue the soft contact with the other as his frame settled back down.

"Do you…remember this spot? We can…can make new memories together, starting now. I think they…would have wanted us to."

Rewind nodded, looking up at the sky. It was exactly the same as on his Lost Light. It was going to be difficult, facing the entire crew when he watched them all die. But with Chromedome at his side, he knew he could do it.

"Yeah," he murmured. "Yeah, I think they would have too."
