so apparently you can mine bitcoin from your bedroom now and nobody told me

okay hear me out. i went down a rabbit hole and there's this whole world of tiny home miners that aren't the screaming industrial fridge-sized things you're picturing. some of them are literally the size of a paperback book and run quieter than your gaming PC.

a few that caught my eye:

🔧 the Bitaxe Gamma 602 — open-source, runs off USB-C basically, this is the "i just want to understand how mining works" starter

⚡ the Antminer S21 Pro — this is the "i am no longer playing around" machine (234 TH/s, your power bill will feel it)

🐕 a Dogecoin/Litecoin miner because of course i looked into doge mining, i'm only human

obligatory reality check: at australian electricity prices this is NOT a money printer and anyone telling you otherwise is selling you something. it's a hobby that might break even. they actually have a whole honest writeup on whether it's worth it here which i appreciated because most crypto content is just hype.
