Minecraft Bits

A couple months ago I developed a series of Minecraft feature ideas and submitted them as a poll on minecraftforum.net. With over 1200 votes, I think the poll was a success. One of the features, the map item, is currently in development, although I doubt this was thanks to my poll.

Im sure im not the only one thats annoyed by the fact that you need 6 wooden plank blocks to craft a set of wooden stairs, but when you take them down, you only get 1 wood each. I hope Notch changes this in some way, but more importantly I hope he fixes the bug that appeared in 1.5 which makes some stairs look like they have a dark shaddow. 

(Does the stair icon look strange to anyone besides me?)
