Lord Kimmel! They gave him the personality of a nice guy too… I’m not sure if it’s ever been confirmed whether Rolo killed him or just stunned him, but if it’s the former, apologies to the fans he might actually get now.

Which sounds depressing, because it doesn’t appear like BK!Rolo knows what else to do with his life anymore. He even refers to himself as non-canon…

Black Knights Rolo’s lines as you get more Dearness levels: 1) I just wanted to protect Brother… And yet, I… 2) If it’s for Brother’s sake, I will do anything. Even if it’s the Geass that Brother left behind. 3) There is only one person in the world who can give orders to me. Only the orders of that person who is the connection between me and Brother. 4) I had never doubted the mandates I was given. Is it such an odd thing to feel happy when fighting? 5) All I have to do is make sure Uncage Protocol succeeds. … After that? I haven’t thought of anything after that. 6) You are fighting for this world’s tomorrow out of your own volition… Not because it’s someone’s order, but for everyone’s sake. 7) And I’m part of that “everyone”…? So you too are telling me to live… 8) Once I finish protecting the only connection between Brother and me that’s left, will it be okay for me to live in the world that has become peaceful…? 9) You are strange… You ask nothing of me, but you are trying to give me a place to stay. I have the feeling that you are similar to somebody.  — Again, the voice is Rolo’s, but the lines themselves… Because, alright, if Rolo asks himself “What should I do now? What did Brother want from me in the end?“ then “I have to protect Nunnally and Shirley; and also, according to Shirley, he wanted me to live on as well” is indeed the right answer I guess, but to reach said answer Rolo would first need to be able to not mentally collapse. We know he is probably pretty used to putting his emotions aside in order to allow for missions to succeed, but if that’s what he’s doing here, then he’s reverting to being unable to honor his own feelings. Like he’s living for someone else’s sake, rather than because he wants to live. And there’s no way that the same Rolo who at this point of the story depended on Lelouch being there for him so much that he would MURDER PEOPLE LELOUCH LOVED could suddenly lose Lelouch and realize ‘Wait, maybe I can be happy without Niisan after all’ before choosing to take his own life (which we’ve seen he doesn’t hesitate to do in Turn 19). And I said “lose Lelouch” because I think that alone would have left Rolo unable to envision himself having a “place to belong” in the world anymore, but when you change “lose Lelouch” to “kill Lelouch with his own hands” then that’s a whole new level of absolutely unbearable existence. My two cents.
