Orena was seated in a tavern, with little to nothing to do with herself rather than watching people. Watching the way everyone laughed or flinched or moved. Watching was her job â one of her jobs, to be precise. She observed people, circumstances and surrounding, calculating the best move and the best way out unseen, if the laughter becomes too loud or the movement too aggressive.
She stared blankly in front of herself, fixed to nothing particular in the crowded tavern, her thoughts taking her everywhere and anywhere at the same time, but mostly it all revolved around her brother. It wasnât until someone spoke, not too far from her, that she snapped from her mindâs workings and realized sheâs been staring at someone â or through someone, more accurately.
âPardon me, I was thinking about something and I wasnât aware I was staring at you.â She spoke calmly, taking a sip of the ale afterwards.
Milo surveyed the other with careful eyes, trying to decipher whether she was telling the truth or not. Whether he was off due to the lack of sleep or with a rare occurrence of someone actually telling the truth, he decided to believe her. She seemed like she was in a deep trance about something and he interrupted her as she interrupted him. âIt happens...â He spoke, a smile playing on his lips, âI found that the people who calculate the most in their lives are always the ones to space from time to time more often than the day dreamers...â
