Ok so in the true ending where Ai and Yusaku go home together due to the power of card games and friendship- Ai is that insufferable (positive) partner that constantly texts Yusaku dumb shit throughout the day. Like a picture of a cigarette butt on the ground next to an empty can and captions it as "us😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘." Also Yusaku frequently comes home to Ai doing.......something......and just closes the door and turns around. Heads to the Hot Dog stand instead.

OK I'LL FINALLY SHARE MY THOUGHTS

So I really really liked Vrains!! Duel Links piqued my interested and I'm always a sucker of protag + spiritual (AI?) partner (see: Yuugi and Atem, Yuuma and Astral).

I was told the ending would disappoint me like Arc V did, but it really didn't? I admit it felt a bit rushed and whoa hey Ai is "evil" now what's up with that??? But even without knowing the full ending, I had a feeling Ai was playing big brain 4D chess about...something.

Liked Blue Angel and Ghost Girl. But I've been a ygo fan for decades so I knew not to get my hopes up on if they would be super relevant to the plot. They sort of were! But lbr this was a boys show and I'm here for it.

Revolver grew on me. He seemed like the edgelord "rival" for most of the first arc, but I really liked his character development in arc 2. He was very morally grey and complex and I thought that was refreshing.

I would die for Takeru and Flame. That's all I'll say about them. Sniff. My boys.

I wish we had more lore on the other Ignises! They were really fun (poor Earth holy shit). And you know, it's been a hot sec since I've seen someone threaten someone else's existence when they're losing a children's card game, so thanks for that Lightning. And Windy is just a silly lil guy.

OK SO THE ROBOPPI FINAL DUEL HOLY FUCKING SHIT. I think the last time I teared up/cried during a duel was in Zexal. This one broke me. When Playmaker tells Soulburner to basically put him out of his misery....god damn. POOR ROOMBA HE JUST WANTED TO BE SMART.

As for the ending, I love my tragic yaoi. Also love it when the spirit partner tells his human 愛してる when he leaves them. Insert "if I had a nickel...two nickels" meme here.

Overall, I think I'd put it as my third fav ygo so far.
