i already get when people say the characters are constantly on their mind, like i was in a reading (actual books) slump because all i could think about was reading about characters i already love

but that didn’t happen at all here!! i think it was the perfect kind of book to get me reading things other than fanfiction again

i got up to about 70% of the way through, im on chapter 11, which i just realised is actually way closer to the end than i thought

anyway most of these characters have already pissed me off at least once and i can’t wait to read more about them

okay first of all if you’re going to name twins names that start with the same first letter and then have them do a whole switcharoo thing, neil’s confused, i’m confused but i think i’ve figured it out now

also what the fuck kind of medicine that the court can order andrew to be on the entire time has him acting like he’s on drugs and he can’t feel anything but happy what is this madness

i love how i’m like 70% of my way into this book and neil’s point of view is just “oh wow look at these crazy assholes what are their problems, actually i don’t care!! just stop being an asshole about my excy (how the fuck do you spell ecxy??) also my dad is a murderer anyway wow this university sport training is killing me”

the bit where they were asking neil to join there team genuinely cracked me up like what do you mean you’re basically telling this guy to move how far wherever to go and play on a team with you, and it’s a school team!!! insane behaviour

also!! i thought neil was 5,5 because i swear it said something about the twins being 5,0 and neil having 5 inches on them but youre telling me this man is shorter than me??? i looked it up and it was like 5,3 and im like huhhhh how tall was his dad?? isn’t he a murderer?? was he just going around cutting people up and doing so while like 5,4??? (not saying you can’t be a murderer and short but damn)

and andrew being like 5,0 and everyone’s scared of him,, that man has the build of a twelve year old going through puberty,, like i get it and i too would be scared of him but i would also feel a little silly for it later

why are matt and dan the only normal people in this whole book like i know they’ve probably got issues too but reading neil meet matt was like a breath of fresh air after everyone else’s tomfoolery and games

i’m at the part where i think neil has just gotten on the pitch(court?) and im not going to lie i have no idea whats going on when im reading him describing them playing i have no idea who’s where and im kind of fine with that

i’ve also accepted the fact that i’ll have no idea how old people are without googling and i’ll have no idea where abouts people are because i am not american. (how does joining a university sports team even work?? if he said he was 19 and hes joining as a freshman than what team was he playing with before?? was that like some sort of club??? idek)

also if he was doing languages as his major than why was he in english and science class?? i don’t get american colleges
