“But what interest me the most it, what have you been up to lately? Any gossip you need to share with me? Come on, tell me everything.” She smirked.

“Oh lord... If I were to tell you all the shit that happened to me and what I did while you were gone, I could write a novel...” she admitted.

“Relaxing would describe it the best, I guess.” Eden smirked. “I had a lot to revise, could distract myself from all the crap at home- and of course my distraction oppertunities weren’t limited to books only.” She gave her a wink.

“Sounds all too enjoyable. Sometimes I wish I could get out of this town, but I think I’d just feel uprooted... A good distraction sounds nice, though,” she giggled.

“Hey, I had hope and now you intend to destroy it without any mercy.” Eden pouted mockingly, but chuckled. “Nice to see you again, Lucy.”

“It’s what I do,” she joked, chuckling a little. “It’s nice to see you, too, Eden. How was your time away from this place?”

“Why don’t you flat out just ask him?” he asks “what’s the point of putting yourself through this guessing game, maybe you wont get the answer you want, but at least either way you’ll know for sure if it’s over or not.”

“I... I don’t know... but I think I willl... ask him I mean. I’m scared... but I’ve got to do it, don’t I? Luke, can I talk to you later?” she asked, grabbing her purse and her cell phone off of the table.

“So it seems like nothing has changed since I left. I guess that’s a good thing.” Eden sighed as he walked through the door of the Grill, stopped there, looking around the room.

“Nothing? Oh I’d beg to differ. This town has fallen apart, you just can’t see it,” Lucy said, replying to Eden as she saw the Donovan walk through the door.

Once the question left her mouth his eyes went a little wide which he quickly tried wiping off the dumbfounded expression. Without knowing how to respond he let his mouth drop open slightly like it would help some kind of word form. “Well–I–” Bringing his hand up he rubbed the back of his neck nervously. “I–I don’t know…” Dropping his hand he looked over at her while his brain scrambled to find the words. “We went as friends…it’s not like I planned for us to sleep together. I mean not that I didn’t want to but–” He sighed out of frustration. “Maybe we do, I don’t know everything’s a little confusing.”

“I... I still really like you, Adam,” Lucy blurted out, not even thinking to worry about how he would react to it. “Like... a lot. And ever since we stopped seeing each other and I turned it back on... I’ve never felt so,” she began, choking up. “I’ve never felt so alone. So many guys have just used me for sex and I’ve never been this serious about someone... or regretted my mistakes as much as I have with cheating on you. Adam.... I think I might need you... but I can’t force you to feel the same way about me... I should go.”

Luke laughs “it’s okay Lu, you can say it. “God knows I do it enough to be an expert” he laughs, teasing her. “So you had sex, than what?”

“I can say it, yeah, but you’re my brother... not really into talking about my sex life with you. Trust me, there are things you don’t want to know...” she trailed off. “Either way, we had sex, and then we barely talked for the rest of the night, and I didn’t talk to him for a while after, and we haven’t talked about what happened, and I don’t know if I should be hopeful, or know that it was just a hookup and nothing more...”

“Um…” Adam stood there blinking a few times, shutting him up was what people wanted to do saying he talked too much but now he couldn’t think of a single proper sentence. “Okay…yeah…” He mumbled slowly nodding his head while his mind raced for things to say as he walked into the living room with her. “What do you want to know about it? I mean…I just..I don’t really…I’m not sure what I’m supposed to be saying.”

“I don’t know but I’m getting a ton of mixed messages... I can’t figure out if I was a hookup that we shouldn’t talk about or maybe something you still wanted... So, Adam. Answer me this,” she said, taking a deep breath, “was I just a one night stand and nothing more? Or do you think maybe we still have a chance?”
