“Cipher, what schemes do you have for us today? Please warn me.” Phainon smiles. His ventures from last night celebrations had  been fruitful. Nothing could ruin his day at all!

The walk with the mystery general from the Xianzhou Luofu was like a tale from Cyrene’s books. To hear tales of another world was fun from Trailblazer, but this Jing Yuan was something new to him. He never thought a simple talk would spiral into a date. Maybe Cyrene's talks of a romantic story weren't just figurative. “I rather not be preoccupied with your tricks today.”

“Oh, I wonder? Is it because of this?” The gray cat woman pulls out a metaphorical weapon of mass destruction. “What? Cat got your tongue, hahahahhaha!”

Phainon stares. 

This weapon is more harmful than what Lygus’ calculations had on him.

It would surely ruin his foothold he just reestablished with the other Chryso Heirs. He just had got Cerydra to call him by name, and Hysilens to not compare him to all the light color beings she deemed too self sacrificial to leave alone. Even the professor could tolerate his whimsy jokes now, and even engage in a lighthearted conversation. This would damage him. This would deem him with a name he couldn’t erase. 

“Cipher, please. Hand that to me.”

“Erm.. What if I don’t want to? Afterall,  I am the chosen of Zagreus, lady of tricks and all! It would not do to simply give such a treasure to you! ” Cipher cackles. “ Plus, you  got such a funny look on your face, too!”

“Please. Make an exception.” Phainon is a fool. He knew she wouldn’t give it to him. It wasn’t in her nature, but he had to try. Anything to win an advantage in this battle! Her tricks were never backed without some type of escape plan.

The two began to brace  in an intense staredown. 

She smirks.

He trembles. 

She wasn’t stronger than him, so if he managed to grab it right now, nothing troubling would happen. She usually puts her tricks in plain sight . He snatched the object in her hand.

It was a blank 

It was a dud. 

“Bye! Bye! Pretty Boy!!” The cat woman sprints in a flash down the hallway. 

Phainon lunges, missing her hoodie by the grasp of his fingers. “NOOOO!”

He stood still for a second and just stared at his wretched hand. 

Dumb, dumb , stupid ******* hand!  

Oh, it was so over for him.
