miicat blog !!

I think i was as surprised as everyone when i saw that nintendo decided to randomly drop a demo for one of the games i awaited the more these last few years. I litteraly dropped everything just to play as soon as i knew and omg it made me even more excited for the full game!!!!

I have many things to comment on especially the mii editor as we have been given FULL access to the final product. It was probably what i waited for the most, i love making miis and this new editor is what i'll create with from now on ! I was far from disappointed

mii creator

so the new game gives a new option to create miis with prompts which i think is a very good idea as even i, knowing the mii editor quite well by now, was quite overwhelmed by the amount of options, the customization of each feature etc.. i think it'll be a very good introduction for the new players who don't know much about our dear miis that nintendo left in the shadows for so long as tomodachii is their great comeback !

actually i wonder if this is actually the comeback of miis, because from what we see this game seems to re-introduce them to the public, making it accessible even for the younger ones who don't know them at all and those who kind of forgot about them as the switch came out and miis slowly faded into the background. miis will probably not have as much as an important place in nintendo games as they used to during the wii and ds eras but i hope that we will see them make more appearances in other games. maybe nintendo is testing the waters and we can allow ourselves to dream about other mii games ? (if it happens and they only get out on the switch 2 i will loose it tho (which is what's most likely to happen in that scenario))

back to the subject.. i really like the new editor ! it is, as i said, a little confusing at first but the new options are refreshing and i love the fact that they allow us to customize each item way more giving even the older ones a new look ! i love how we can do everything with the eyes now and i've seen so many people being so creative. this is exactly what i wanted, a new way to twist each asset to give it a personal look, having to search, mix and match items to make your own personal facial features. i adore the new face shapes especially the first one ! (the sorter version of the default miis faceshape) i know i am going to use it way too much.. the ability to choose front and back hair is again really cool ! expanding the number of possibilities. each facial features got new options, we can now add lips to any mouth shape.. all of the changes are so cool !!

I honestly was quite scared about miis losing their identity, restricted options is part of what make miis so special, forcing you to make a caricature but as the game pushes us to make all sorts of characters, not just ourselves and loved ones it kind of makes sense. i am very glad that facepainting really is optional and that we already have so much new content and ways to have fun without it, i think it is a great balance so that anyone can create miis in their own style, it actually expands it ! It's so nice seeing everyone share their miis, they all look so different and personal :D

being french i was disappointed when i saw that there was no neutral pronouns, i kind of expected it and i would love for it to happen but i do understand how much of a struggle and money it would represent.. still i am happy that i can make my lesmiian island dreams come true

gameplay

i don't have much to say (this post is already quite long srry..) as we didn't get to see much but i am very glad miis are still as silly as ever and i absolutely ADORE the quirks, i'm so excited for all my miis to have their own way of walking, standing etc.. it so fun

before i show you my new miis i still have a question unanswered, i did a personal island with me, my sister, and my girlfriend, i did specify making them our relashionships in real life and my gf instantly fell for me, i wonder if it's always like that or was it a coincidence ? lemme know if it happened to anyone else, they say it shouldn't have an impact on the gameplay but now im not so sure

my miis

i created the island jellyla ! it may be a temporary name, based on the first two residents ; Jeily and Laila !!

jeily is inspired by a jellyfish and laila by lilac flowers, i see them both as quiet souls which fits their personalities well !

(i dont think jirai-kei actually fits laila that much but the outfit was too cute)

and our third character is shay !! a shark inspired mii :)

since it it an island i feel very inspired by sea creatures for my miis, i love sea creatures soooo much and i am so excited to make more but also maybe bring miis from other games on the island for a nice rest after a long adventure ? OMG I CANT WAIT FOR THE GAME TO COME OUT

it takes a lot of game time to make a whole post so here is some pictures of the cuties

I just started playing miitopia this week, as it is my first real experience I created a mii that looks like me ! meet nova, an airheaded mage :D she is a little modified from her regular appearance to look whimsical, i think this is the style i would have in such a world !

on her journey, nova met miicat, a kind pop star ! it's really funny seeing those two together as they represent two different parts of my own personality, one is a silly, soft introverted girl and the other a bubbly, fashionable singer, they became friends quickly not without a little argument at some point but they did make up fast !

then bei came along, a laid-back chief, they took their friends fishing, fed them delicious food and apparently miicat wanted to show of her love for wigs to them..

nabi then arrived, a stubborn thief, she quickly became close with miicat not without forming a friendship with the other party members.

the party finally complete they saved the villagers and started their trip to the castle !
