i. Ā is there a snack you like to eat while writing?
honestly, there isnāt any particular snack i eat? i just munch on whateverās available at the moment so thereās a variety. however, i tend to lean more towards sweet things. i also drink a lot of water while writing, more so than snacking. i have my tumbler cup and straw with me most of the time. it makes me feel dignified.
ii. Ā what time of day do you usually write?
itās not really a matter of when i write because itās mostly a matter of whether i have the motivation/inspiration/feeling to do it. but due to time and whatnot, i write more at night.
iii. Ā where do you write?
in my room, for the most part, but iām not opposed to writing down things that come into my mindĀ on my phone or notebook wherever i may be.
iv. Ā how often do you write a new novel?
i have never written novels; iāve never had the patience to sit down and carefully plan out a story line chapter by chapter. believe me, iāve tried and it turned out terribly cliched and all i could think of were possible scenes that could happen in future chapters. all my attempts were discarded in the end. however, if weāre talking about short scenes ā i do those almost frequently, should an idea or some sort of inspiration strike me. itās no joke, iāve got plenty of different (short) scenes involving different characters that iāve made up especially for a particular scene. like most scenes involve different characters.
v. Ā do you listen to music while you write?
not really? iām not really an audio kind of person so whenever i play music before i write, i always end up turning it off in the middle of writing. it kinds of ruins my train of thought.
vi. Ā whatās your writing utensil? paper or laptop?
either one will do but recently i feel as though writing on the laptop is far easier? itās probably because i donāt have to cancel anything out if i make a spelling mistake or grammatical error. itās cleaner.
vii. Ā do you have a special pre-writing ritual?
yes. i pray to apollo, god of poetry, and athena, goddess of wisdom, to grant me their blessings so that i can write to my fullest potential in order for everybody to read amazing decent writing. iām kidding. jokes aside, iād have to say i donāt really have any special thing i do before writing.
viii. Ā what do you do to get into the writing mood?
read a book, watch a movie, listen to a song and so on. a lot of things put me in a writing mood and get me really inspired. so iād have to say nothing?? iām so sorry iām so useless in answering these questions but for real. i donāt usually do anything.
ix. Ā what do you always have near the place you write?
whatever that was already there?? um, myself??Ā
x. Ā do you have a reward system for word counts?
i donāt do anything like setting word counts for myself because i feel it restricts me in a way? i donāt know how to explain it. so no.
xi. Ā is there anything else about your writing process your readers donāt know?
i think a lot about the words iām going to use. itās kind of weird. i always check up the meanings of the words iām not sure of and double check until iām certain itās the appropriate word for the context that iām writing it for. the same applies for phrases. also for some reason iām very particular about how i word each sentence so i always read through whatever i write before saving them. i tend to reword some of my sentences so it wouldā¦ flow(??) better when i read it. basically, i edit my writing a lot. but iām never satisfied with it because it always seemed kind of stiff/awkward to me.
