What is done in love is well done

I know it’s frustrating when you don’t feel like you’re where you should be or not doing enough, but please take things slow. try to live in the moment. the present needs you more than the future does right now.

You wouldn’t be more worthy, more loved, more deserving if you were stronger, smarter, better. I know how difficult it is to remember in a world where you might feel lonely or singled out, where it seems like everyone is better than you are or where it seems like you’ll never measure up, but nothing about you is a mistake. Not even the things you feel set you apart or make others uncomfortable. Take up the space you need without apologizing for it.

i never want to contribute to toxic positivity so i want to acknowledge that sometimes things just suck and there isn’t a bright side. the best thing you can do in those times is take care of yourself as much as possible. maybe that means just brushing your teeth, drinking some water or calling up a friend. you don’t always have to be grateful for where you are in life. sometimes you have to get through some hard shit first, but i know that you’re capable of doing it.

choosing to be vulnerable in the pursuit of love is brave. opening yourself up to love and asking for the same love in return is brave. and the fact that they couldn’t measure up to your level of affection doesn’t diminish that bravery. and it doesn’t diminish the value or the beauty of your love. it just leaves you free to find someone who will love you the way you deserve.

fall in love with small, beautiful things– with sunrises on foggy mornings, warm drinks on cold days, hot soup for a sore throat, cat and dog sightings, long hugs, your favorite songs playing over public speakers, days marked as special on the calendar, compliments from strangers, getting a new shirt you look good in, with your own laughter
