yes yes biometric data privacy blah blah adults can hypothetically by harmed by this too. what about the immediate and deliberate and not at all hypothetical harm to youth. why are you acting like a potential data leak about what your face looks like, which if it ever happened would at least be generally recognised as a problem, is a more serious issue than cutting millions of people off from information and community and public expression which is happening right now in the open with large scale support

it's got the stench of fucking "banned books week" on it. thousands of adults congratulating themselves for reading books literally no one is trying to stop them from reading while doing nothing to improve access for the young people who are the ones actually having those books made off-limits to them.

personally I am of the opinion that vegans who are like “the way our food system currently works under capitalism on a large scale is exceptionally cruel to all animals including humans and is not sustainable, so I’m doing what I can to make the most ethical choices available to me about what I eat and encourage others to do the same” are generally very reasonable people who I agree with in spades. but vegans who seem to think human beings are not themselves animals who are ultimately also part of the food chain but instead some kind of other paternalistic higher entity that can never engage in ethical and sustainable hunting practices (and especially the fringe I’ve seen who think other carnivorous animal predators are also evil and need to be eliminated) are people I regard as foolish at best if not actively anti-indigenous and racist

as a completely oversimplified observation, people who understand transmisogyny see it as an intersection of transphobia and gender-based oppression but people who believe in transandrophobia see it as an intersection of transphobia and sex-based oppression. genuinely i think that's where the disconnect is, it's why so much of transandrophobia rhetoric sounds TERF-y, it's why some think it's about misandry and some think it's about misogyny, it's why there's no coherent theory about how it differs from transphobia. but you can't call these guys bioessentialist or else they'll call you a gender essentialist 🙄

i do think that transandros need to be understood as simply a transmisogynist reactionary movement at its core. they can and do waffle between sex-based oppression and mra talking points, because the actual arguments arent the real belief (and frankly i dont think its the belief of cis terfs and cis mras either)- the belief is that transfems are annoying, get too much attention, and are sexual threats- that transfeminism needs to be either defanged or eliminated. their behavior and apparent hypocricy make this clear.
