Whelp. It’s been a while, but here are some sketches and ideas for a new project.

Day 041-042. “When you put them together it looks weird.” Well, I needed two sketches so here you go. I want to challenge myself to draw more full figures instead of just the head and shoulders.

Day 040!!! Posting consistently (kindofnotreally) for 40 days is really exciting for me because I can see that I’ve tried a lot of different art styles, mediums, etc. I’m also more comfortable with sharing crappy work. It is what it is and tomorrow I’ll make more.

Day 039. Marker sketch of this green haired girl.

Day 038 (?). Not really sure what day I’m on since I missed a few again, but here are some sketches. I really want take some time and paint one these. We’ll see if that ever happens. 😂

Day 036. All yellow and green.

Day 035. I realized I normally sketch solitary characters so I decided to draw a big sister trying to avoid her younger brother. Perhaps this is a visual metaphor of me avoiding my work?

Day 034. I missed a few posts, but I’m back with some sketches. 😅

Day 032. I love trying to capture a personality and an attitude with just a few simple shapes and lines. So much expression can be communicated with them.

Days 030-031. When you realize you forgot to upload yesterday... Oh, well. Creating is the most important thing, right? Happy weekend!! ✨🎉

Day 029. “She’s a queen. She’s a diva.” Playing around with shapes and values (a little). Hopefully this weekend I can take my sketches from the past week and do a bit of painting. Traditional or digital? 🤔

Day 028. Work with what you have even if that means taking a photo on your bedspread with bad lighting. 😂 Now that I’m doing this 365 project I can’t use little mistakes like these anymore to keep myself from creating and posting work.

Day 027. “She’s ready to travel.” I’m struggling with bit of burnout at the moment and wish I could travel. Takeout and a break from art/school will have to suffice, though.

Day 026. Let’s just say I’m tired and didn’t want to post anything today, but I did and I’m ok with this sketch. Minus the odd, large ears. 😂

Day 025!!!! The color version of yesterday’s sketch. Posting consistently (pretty much) for 25 days is a big accomplishment for me. There is so much self-doubt that sometimes goes along with the creative process but there’s also a lot of joy and pride when I complete something, and I want this blog to be a celebration of that, of exploration, and of improvement. This is only beginning. Better things are ahead. Until tomorrow!  

Day 024. Keeping it sketchy. Too often I get caught up on perfection and forget to just make stuff. Contemplating coloring this digitally 🤔

Day 023. Do what you love even if it’s making illustrations of wacky looking people while avoiding homework. Until tomorrow!
