she only steals "the truth", ergo only what is absolutely 100% paramount. that is her guiding principle. She's a great thief, not a pickpocket. She really enjoys the draw of stealth and fantasizing about it, but unless it's for a cause, she doesn't steal. She is mildly similar to Maya, yes, but i think it's mostly in fandom perception more than actual character in-game. It's been a while since I've played the Trilogy, so it's hard to describe, but basically: Kay would never call Phoenix an "attention whore" and Maya would not come up with the "When no other bird takes flight..." monologue. You get that? And that's just their personality! Their motives, their actions, their relationships, are DRASTICALLY different. Maya must live up to the role of the future Master, while Kay actively chooses to live up to the role of the Yatagarasu. I think that difference alone actually makes up a lot of ground here.
