general blog etiquette: this blog is (s)low activity, private, and mutuals only. when sending in memes, please specify muse ! no god-modding, no character-correcting, no hate, no bigotry, etc. we are here to have fun. once i gather enough threads, i will try to get this blog running on a queue.
formatting: i use small font with occasional, light formatting. my icon usage varies depending on which muse i'm writing. i put memes in a separate post for convenience if my partner wishes to continue it, but i do not expect memes to be continued, though i encourage them to be so. however, just because a meme is continued doesn't mean i will continue it from that point. basically: memes are just suggestions that can be taken or left behind.
re: my targaryens: i interpret the targaryen family as black, and am heavily inspired by ancient egypt when it comes to developing them. i don't expect others to conform to this interpretation, but i do expect it to be respected. also, i will unfollow for any extensive, unnecessary hate toward this fictional, predominantly 'extinct' family, because i don't have time for that.
re: arthuriana muses: my arthuriana muses are all interconnected in the retelling that exists solely in my brain that i developed through a frankly ridiculous amount of extensive research. while a good 98% of my ideas are taken from some legend that exists somewhere, the way everything is interwoven is solely my own, and i would appreciate if you don't incorporate any aspect of it into your own portrayal without prior discussion. this is especially true when it comes to my arthur in particular and anything that pertains to his sons and the various prophecies i write surrounding him. also: all of my arthuriana muses have reincarnation verses available, with the exception of arthur and galahad (and merlin), who are immortal.

I was randomly thinking about Arthur's relationship with Viviane / Nimue bc like ... Viviane only becomes his adviser after Merlin vanishes, and bc she also has magic, that combination causes Arthur to believe that she had something to do with Merlin vanishing. Which she did! He's technically correct about that but has no proof whatsoever outside of his own pettiness. Camelot is taking a turn toward anti-magic sentiment, so Arthur kinda ... uses her as a scapegoat, almost, bc look! She may not be the prophet Merlin was, but she's a sorceress! His adviser who agrees with his decisions! ... but he doesn't trust her, so he utilizes his bishop as an actual adviser more, and Viviane is really more Guinevere's adviser than his, akskaks.

I'm planning out my multi remake and .... what opinions do we have about, like, characters based off fairytales/myths but are basically ocs? (My king arthur characters are tbh a good example of this). A sleeping beauty interpretation, an adaptation of the persephone myth, Snegurochka (the snow maiden) interpretation ... are the main three I'm considering.
Sansa's perfectionist anxiety that manifests in her constantly fearing she's going to "get in trouble" and therefore she will say anything to not "get in trouble" .... the constant worrying of doing everything right, of "being good", and taking books and songs and authority figures as gospel because they are the only source of guidance on how to act....

emily choosing a favorite of your muses is impossible, but all of your arthuriana muses are such standouts to me. your arthur in particular is just so well thought out and well written, he really seems both like a real person and like a figure of myth, and i have NO IDEA how you strike that particular balance. (i will also always and forever have the biggest soft spot for your narnia characters, particularly lucy and edmund)

if sansa's treatment of arya qualifies as "bullying", then it is passive bullying at best bc jeyne poole coined the "horseface" moniker (by her own admission in adwd), which sansa joined in on / let happen, and septa mordane pitted the girls against one another to the point where sansa felt like to "be good" she had to not be like arya (which is why we get lines like "arya has the traitors blood, not me! I'm good!" bc throwing arya under the bus like that usually worked in getting sansa out of trouble).
sansa's whole THING is that she's a "pretty little talking bird repeating what everyone said" and she's gradually learning that blanket submission to authority doesn't help anyone bc you can do everything right (as sansa does) and still get fucked over. this includes her relationship with arya. the one instance we get of them interacting pre-trident (bc anything after that between them is due to the trauma of the trident and isn't indicative of their relationship as a whole) is one where sansa is annoyed, even hurt, that arya won't hang out with her!!
Willem Darry organizing the betrothal between Viserys and Arianne was originally Rhaella's idea. Rhaella, who was old friends with the Princess of Dorne, and who loved her grandchildren, and who was with her (Dornish) daughter-in-law in the last months of her life.
