We have already done Little Red Riding Hood and Cinderella, so it's time for the Little Mermaid! Submissions are open now until Friday, February 16th (though they may close earlier if there are many submissions). Please read the following rules before submitting:

Submit a character who is based on the character of "the Little Mermaid" by Hans Christian Andersen! Adaptations where the character is not portrayed as a mermaid are allowed, as long as the story is still explicitly based off the original story.

I will also be accepting characters "playing" the Little Mermaid in a one-off thing, either through some sort of play, being magically transported into the role, etc.

Just because a character is a mermaid, does not mean they qualify. They have to specifically be based on or an allusion of the Little Mermaid.

No OCs or fan characters, official characters only! For more information, read this post from when Cinderpoll was going on.

No real people!

I reserve the right to reject a character if I do not feel comfortable including them, either because of the subject of the story or the media it is from.

When we did Cinderpoll, it was a 128-bracket. I have a feeling there are much less Little Mermaid characters out there compared to Cinderella, so the goal is going to be for 64! That said, if we DO manage to get enough for a 128, I will happily do it! (No more than that, though.)

Feel free to write propaganda on why your character is the best, either when you are submitting the character or through the ask box afterwards.

Be nice and have fun!!! This is just for fun, please do not get too worked up if your character is not submitted a lot or loses in the tournament. This is just for fun and is not indicative of morality of the characters who win.

Despite the name, this competition is not exclusive to ladies, characters of all genders are allowed in. :)

The submitted character must canonically be a ballet dancer.

i’ve made a few posts in the last couple of days about my current situation , but i thought i would consolidate it all into one post ;;

hi there ! my name is shroom and i have type two diabetes . i have to take insulin every day to survive – i take my levemir when i wake up and before i go to sleep , and i take my humalog before every meal . 

my younger brother is a nightmare to live with . he abuses me mentally and physically , and nothing is ever done about it . he shoved me down the stairs just a few months ago , leaving me with a permanent knee injury . the other day , he was upset about something completely unrelated to me , and decided to take the rest of my insulin pens out of the fridge and smash them with a hammer .

when i told my father about what happened , he told me that i shouldn’t have kept them in the fridge . for those of you who don’t know , you have to keep your unopened insulin pens refrigerated . once you start using the pen , you can keep it at room temperature . my fathers knows this – i’ve told him several times and his father also had diabetes , it’s just an excuse for him to not have to do anything about my brother’s behavior .

i’m now left with only my two current pens , and my supply is rapidly dropping . at this rate , i have less than a week’s worth , so i’m going to have to start cutting meals and stretching my insulin . to prevent anything like this from ever happening again , i’ve decided to invest in a mini fridge and a new doorknob with a lock for my bedroom .

for a month’s supply of insulin , i have to pay $70 – $35 for three pens of both humalog and levemir . the mini fridge is $28 with $9 in taxes and shipping fees . the cheapest doorknob i could find online that’ll work with my door is $13 . all together , that’s about ~$120 . 

i’ve already had a few very charitable people help me out and i've reopened commissions to help fund this !! if anyone could spare a few dollars , it would mean the world to me !! even reblogging this and spreading the word is highly appreciated

Qualifications:

They do not have to actually be knights. They can be a knight equivalent, like a bodyguard, or just very knight-like (like, say, do they wear armor and carry a sword? Or are referred to as one despite not actually being knighted? Or an ex-knight? That could be a knight! It's the vibes that matter!)

They cannot be two unrelated knights. They must be, in some way, connected to each other-- such as being in service to the same person, guarding the same person, or even being sworn enemies (and also knights)

Duos are not required; you can submit three people (or four if you're convincing), as long as they're all knights

You can submit as many duos as you want, but don't spam them. I'm not above preventing them from entering out of spite

This isn't restricted to just anime! Characters from other media are also allowed as long as they are drawn in an anime style or just have anime energy. (ex. Utatane Piko from Vocaloid, Guzma from Pokemon, etc.)

Character's hair must be predominantly white, but characters with streaks/highlights/etc that are different colors are allowed!
