Mermaid Bracket 2: Aquatic Boogaloo Pinned Post
With the second bracket in full swing now, I think it's time for another pinned post explaining things!
CURRENT ROUND: Finals
WHAT IS THE FISHMAN RULE: This rule is meant to tighten up on entries as many entrants in the last bracket weren't technically merfolk. To be counted as merfolk, the entrant must have a mammalian top and aquatic creature bottom. This means that if they have human legs with scales, they don't count. The exception to this is the Mermaid Man Clause.
WHAT IS THE MERMAID MAN CLAUSE: This clause is meant to include characters that are referred to as a mermaid/merman/merfolk within their story despite otherwise breaking the fishman rule. It is named after Mermaid Man from Spongebob Squarepants.
WHAT IS THE ANTI-SEALION RULE: This rule is meant to stop a sea lion from winning another bracket. Essentially, you just can't submit a real animal and say it's a mermaid. This includes sea lions, seals, manatees, etc.
By the way, if you wanna support me on my mains, @pureiceblue is my casual blog and @pureicegames is my game development blog. I mostly make horror stuff, but I have a slice of life video project coming this summer.
