There was the quiet sound of an unlocking door as Blythe finally got back to her apartment after a few days in the hospital. Music was playing which meant her neighbor had come by to check on Enzo and she sighed, relieved, that he wasn’t locked up the whole time. That poor dog held more of the brunt of her carelessness than she did, sometimes.
Everything was in shambles, it really was. She had to fix so much,
Things were broken all around her, behind the glass. She took a shuddering breath.
Walking slowly into her apartment, she closed the door silently behind her, looking around the place. It was…clean, but things were sticking out of the garbage. Yes, her neighbor had been here. Cleaning up after Enzo threw his fit the other night the demons came out, no doubt. That at least meant she was alright, at least. Blythe pressed the heel of her hand into an eye and got off the door, walking towards the kitchen for some water when she saw a foreign jacket tossed across the counter. Picking it up, she inspected it. Really nice quality—leather? Wasn’t her neighbor vegan? Blythe took a breath and set it back down, adjusting her bag to go into her room and probably shower…something to just knock out in.
There was wine that she thought she left on the counter, but it was better that it wasn’t because she probably would have went for that since she didn’t trust herself with a lighter—she didn’t want to see fire. She already had it. Blythe pushed the door open to find Enzo sitting behind it.
“Enzo? What are you doing in here?” She asked the Dalmatian in their language, reaching down to pet him. He seemed…perfectly fine? More than he’d been in a while, even. She blinked curiously, stepping over him to get to her bed and she took a step back from it when she did.
One of her travel bags lay on her bed, open with a couple things in it. She stared at it, then looked at her end table. The wine was there with a half-filled glass. “—w-what?” She knew something along these lines hadn’t happened, no she wouldn’t have brought these out.
“Y’know, Bly, these are rather good. You’ve gotten better.”
She gasped and spun around to see a tall boy sitting in her plush recliner by a bookshelf. He was holding one of her notebooks that held her turquoise and rose-coloured writing, thumbing through it and holding another glass of wine. He looked up at her behind messy brown hair. Blythe struggled for a breath.
“…N-Nico,” she took a step towards him before nearly falling over. He got up to catch her and hold the tiny girl close to him, nuzzling her blue hair, murmuring quietly.
“It’s good to see you, bella.”
