Ā Ā Ā Smiling at Mereckās comment, Jonathan let out a bright laugh, his gaze trailing along the other happily. He was so stunning, his body defined, every part of him beautiful and it was mind-blowing to him that someone like him would want him. But he did, he wanted him, and it was indescribable how giddy that made him. He wanted to jump, to shout, to let everyone know that he had found someone so incredible, even though he knew he shouldnāt.Ā
Ā Ā Ā It felt as though they kissed forever and no time at all. Lips slid against lips, bodies pressed tight together, the pounding of his heart against his rib cage vibrating throughout his body. He couldnāt handle the way it made him feel: alive, precious, and full of possibilities. Nothing else seemed to matter, the world having gone a soft yellowish orange behind his lids, bursting into color with each tip of their heads, each slid of their tongues. It was a masterpiece, they were a masterpiece, and he wanted to paint it all, to capture the quiet lingering moment of peace and happiness in itās purest form.
Ā Ā Ā The rattling startled him, his hands jerking, gripping at Mereckās arms tightly, as his eyes went wide, catching the poetās with his own. It took everything in him not to laugh as the other pulled back and responded, his hand pulling away from his arm, moving to cover his face, unable to cover the smile that was breaking out across his expression.Ā
Ā Ā Ā āOh my God, I canāt believe that just happened,ā Jonathan said with a laugh, his cheeks feeling warm, knowing they were undoubtedly pink. Shaking his head, he moved from where he was lying, reaching out to grab his bag and put his belongings back, knowing they would have to come grab them before they took off.
Ā Ā Ā Glancing over at Mereck, he took in a deep breath, his gaze lingering on him as he got himself ready, pulling himself together. It was impossible to not want to reach out and pull him back down, to not want to say screw it to the rest of the trip if it meant spending time together, but he knew that wasnāt really an option.
Ā Ā Ā Taking his hand, he got to his feet, leaning in fast to place a peck against his lips.Ā āAlright, letās go before I decide to eat something else for breakfast,ā he teased, making his way out of the tent.Ā āGuess itās easier to lose track of time together than I realized. Next time we should set an alarm on our phone before we start.ā
Ā Ā Ā Mereck smiled softly.Ā
Ā Ā Ā āWell, itās bound to happen quite a lot from now on,ā he replied. They were together now and there was nothing that would stop Mereck from enjoying his boyfriend, from kissing him when he wanted to. It suddenly didnāt matter if people saw them, if they found out about their relationship. He knew that it would be foolish to flaunt it, especially with his brother coming soon, but he couldnāt help how he felt at this point.Ā
Ā Ā Ā Mereck released a soft laugh and playfully punched Jonathanās shoulder.Ā āDonā say that shit,ā he whispered before he lead Jonathan out of the tent. The last thing he needed was to be dealing with a situation through breakfast. He nodded, agreeing to Jonathanās sentiment. Time had passed quickly in his presence. He didnāt want to think about what that would mean for the remainder of the summer.Ā
Ā Ā Ā He lead the way towards the camp, where their hike-mates were gathering around with their breakfasts. Most were settling on cereal and fruit, but some were waiting for eggs to cook over the fire. Mereck figured heād have a bit of everything to power him through the long day ahead.
Ā Ā Ā They took a seat on a log around the fire and ate with their campmates, sharing in conversation whenever they could. Mereck couldnāt help but lean into Jonathan just slightly as they ate. No one seemed to notice or mind.Ā
Ā Ā Ā When it was time to clean up, Mereck disposed of his things before helping Jonathan pack up the tent. He decided to attach it to his bag again, despite their initial promise to trade off. Things felt different now and he wanted to do things for his boyfriend. When they were all packed up, everyone gathered to listen to the counselor discuss what was in store for the day. They had a twelve mile hike, which would take until dinner to complete. Now that they were near the top of the mountains, it wouldnāt be quite as tough as yesterdayās hike with mostly flat terrain, but there would be some uneven footing.Ā
Ā Ā Ā Finally, they began their hike. Mereck kept pace with Jonathan, making way ahead of the others immediately.Ā
Ā Ā Ā āDid you sleep okay?ā
