Soil – a term for kits in CloudChasers who are born infertile or too weak to reach adulthood. Soil-she-cat rarely survive their first nights after birth, as they are considered of little use to CloudChasers (based on the core stereotype that she-cats are weaker and unable to work). Soil-toms, however, are most often sent to forced labor.

Loam – a term for kits in CloudChasers who are born fertile and are strong enough to reach adulthood. Loam-she-cats remain in the prisoner camp forever, serving as queens, while loam-toms have a chance to enter the main camp and become full members of CloudChasers.
