            the boy breaks a piece off his own   sweet treat,   exposing   custard   as he plops the piece into his mouth.    he munches   quietly   before breaking off another piece   &   offering it to the other.

“   the inside is a lightly   sweetened   gelatinous custard   &   the outside mixture is a   savory,    crispy,   &   flaky   pastry.   just try it,   if you   don’t like it   i’ll eat the rest.“

             HE ONLY stares at the treat for a moment as it is offered to him. Squinting at it as he explains he only hears the words he needs to, this is edible, and with no further hesitation he just eats the piece right out of Megumi’s hand. Barely chewing it or savoring it, simply eating for the sake of it. 

It’s one of his favorite hobbies after all.

                        long lashes flutter,    head tilting in the slightest                         as he     watches     the curse     curiously.

“    —   it’s not a   real fish,   just   batter   …   do you want to try the   custard   or the   chocolate   one   ?    “
