*Side Note: Rare Mayer Week consists of songs that may or may not be on a studio album and may or may not be playing in a department store, (wink) and may or may not be on Youtube, but my goal is to put some rare songs on here that you may not have heard. And now here is a message from the co-writer:
The song Breakaway was a co-write between myself and John Mayer. The song was written in the spring of 1998 in Boston, MA. There are several known recordings of this song. One is a pseudo-studio version that I did, complete with a cheesy drum loop. A live version by John (this one) .. and the third recording that I know of was done by my band Wisechild on our record “Firstborn.” I enjoy reading everyone’s interpretation of this song.
