Teetering precariously between discord and harmony, the prismatic distortion of Tot Onyx (Tommi Tokyo, formerly of group A) and Hiro Kone’s (Nicky Mao) new project Enxin/Onyx abandons all former distinctions for something mutable and unsettling. Their debut EP Dorothy opens with the forceful disquietude of “The Face of Others”, Tommi’s vocals cutting through the darkness to pull the listener inward, some divine sort of subterranean madness unraveling on all sides. Haunted voices bubbling up amongst shifting electronics, mercurial at times, confrontational at others. This constant interplay between elements of their individual practices giving way to a sonic experience that knows no bounds and comes as no surprise for both artists whose work spans across numerous collaborations, including film and dance. Metallic and feral, murky and sharp, the debut four song EP Dorothy feels alive and impervious to current musical trends, making it an exciting debut for the duo who have teased their collaboration with a single and title track for Hiro Kone’s 2018 album Pure Expenditure (Dais Records). Wildly unhinged, “Pure Expenditure” garnered a lot of enthusiasm for the pair and their live performances are not to be missed. Following its success, they formed officially as a band, debuting their first official track “DIN DIAN”, an unrelenting and at times humorous attack on expectation, for Berlin Atonal’s 2020 box set More Light. Enxin/Onyx’s debut LP “In Rupture” is out now on Other People.

New York’s Nicky Mao and Berlin based artist Tot Onyx (aka Tommi Tokyo) collaborate on their first album together since following up their live set with a cassette EP in 2023. †LITVRGY† (US) [solo] Liturgy is the project of Haela Ravenna Hunt-Hendrix, whose yearning, energetic “transcendental black metal” exists in the space between metal, experimental, classical music and sacred ritual. The band is simultaneously a platform for fine art and theology. Celebrated for their fusion of sincere emotion, compositional complexity, stylistic daring and intense live energy, the band is simultaneously a medium and platform for drama and theology. Liturgy was founded as a solo project by Hunt-Hendrix in 2005 and has since evolved into a quartet. Haela will present a brand new solo set, blending acoustic and electric worlds.

Finally, Seattle Psych-Sludge heavies trio OLD IRON have announced a string of Asia engagements this August/September, ending a period of dormancy that has seen the band receding from stages to work on new material and a growing number of side-projects. The following month OLD IRON  will make a select appearance across East / Southeast Asia regions- Taiwan, Malaysia and Thailand.

Old Iron is a ruthless noise rock and bottom-heavy sludge band mixing elements of doom, psych, math, punk, and metallic hardcore. Originally starting in 2011, with the lineup of Jesse Roberts (Sandrider, Kid Congo & The Pink Monkey Birds, Ruby Doe) on guitar and vocals, Jerad Shealey (The Helm, Heiress) on bass and vocals, and Brandon Ramsey on drums. Old Iron self released the full-length “Cordyceps” in 2013, recorded & mixed by Jesse Roberts, and mastered by Brad Boatright at AudioSiege. Shortly after the release, Brandon left the band and was replaced by Trent McIntyre (Yellfire, X Suns, Coastlands). This lineup toured the West Coast with The Helm in 2014, and then recorded their second full-length record in 2016 with Matt Bayles (Minus the Bear, Botch, Mastodon, Isis, Russian Circles, etc.). In 2017, they signed with Good to Die Records, who released their second full length, Lupus Metallorum, in August of that year. Shortly after the release, they toured the West Coast again with Archons. In 2021, they signed with Satanik Royalty Records who re-released Lupus Metallorum. The album was also released in Malaysia, by Menora Recordings. Later that year, Jerad Shealey parted ways with the band shortly before a tour with Pike Vs The Automaton. He was replaced by Aaron Lundborg (Ruby Doe, Glose) two weeks before the tour. In 2022, Satanik Royalty released an Old Iron split with Verdun (from France), as well as a His Hero Is Gone cover compilation album that Old Iron contributed one track to. The Old Iron/Verdun split was also released in Europe on 6 different record labels. In 2023, Old Iron did their first ever tour in Europe, with Verdun. In 2024, they released a digital EP with two songs they recorded during the Verdun split sessions, that were new versions of Ahnighito & Fractal Storm (which originally appeared on Cordyceps). In 2025, they announced their first ever tour in Asia, which will see them go to Taiwan, Thailand, and Malaysia.  //
