It seems to be a theme that people tell me my expectations are too high. That is why I’m near perpetually single (save some dates here and there). But is love.. True love… Something one can ever expect or qualify or quantify or measure in any way? How is that, in my opinion, my reasonable expectations for what make a suitable suitor are somehow exaggerated and unrealistic? Sometimes I wonder if the gay stereotypes dominate the culture and limit what I am seeking… Someone kind, open, honest, and genuinely interested in me for me…. Not me for sex or me for their own personal companionship or any other illegitimate reason to want to be in a relationship with someone.
