I’ve hardly ever paid much mind to follower count or likes and shares. I never paid mind to it because I was just enjoying creating content that I liked and maybe some others liked too.

Recently though, I couldn’t help noticing this large gap between activity from viewers on my instagram vs my tumblr. I had a doodle recently on insta, the one of Jasper and Julian, Reach over 500 likes. I’ve also had a few more recently reach over 100-140 likes. I think the max I have ever reached just with likes here on tumblr is somewhere around 10-15 on my art. Reblogs have always stayed around 2-5. It baffles me just a bit to see that LARGE of a difference. I’ve also gotten some very nice comments and supportive followers that interact with me now and then.

I just maintained I would receive the same amount of likes and so on across both platforms. 

Follower count and likes still are not something I will use to define my worth as a creator, however it did actually boost my drive as a creator to see so many people interested and enjoying my work enough to drop so much support and feel like following me for the content I provide.

Artist positivity time; Most proud of the eyes I drew in this picture bc they manage to grab attention and I feel they also convey the sort of sly, mischievous, sarcastic, etc woman she is. I also enjoy the jewelry and the small bit of her clothing in this image for the tiny fuzz details. 

Overall was very fun to work on to practice after a long time away. Tried some new things and defaulted to old techniques and I feel it all worked out well. 

There’s been a lot happening at home since early this year. Because of these things, I’ve been on a long hiatus with absolute zero notice. I’m very sorry about that. 

If you would like to keep up with me and see what I’ve been up to since I’ve been gone, I have mostly been using my art only instagram account. I’ve mainly been posting traditional art. This is the first time in a while I’ve even touched the computer. 

Here’s that recent practice image I mentioned I would upload. Trying new things with an old brush. Idk how I feel about it tbh, but I do know I like some things and dislike others. All I can do is keep practicing!
