My Memories

To be young and to not know what was ahead. To still believe we had doors upon doors of opportunity. To have the imagination that allowed us to believe we could do anything, we could be anything.

We would talk until the sun rose and even exhausted, I felt at peace that you were there with me

Listening to an old band and all I can think of is how we shared earbuds in the computer lab in middle school and I showed you my music and we would float in that song for just a moment

Do you remember when we would smile while we talked? Can you remind me of being happy?

Did you always feel so strongly? When did you learn the limits of your heart?

There was a time when we were okay, there will be a time when we are okay

I'm gonna remember everything about tonight with you

We used to walk through the ravine and pretend that time was frozen and we would dip our toes into the stream and forget we ever had to go home
