Mel opens the door to the restaurant and walks in adjusting the side part in her hair. She looks up and scans the restaurant for Dennis and Trinity. As she spots Trinity her mouth turns into a small smile and she starts making her way over to the both of them, her boots clicking on the ground each step. Once she makes it to them she turns to Trinity “Hi baby, Wow.. you look so beautiful”. She smiles at her and turns to Dennis, “You look nice Dennis, i’m glad to see you feeling better” She stands with them and waits for Dennis’s date to arrive.

“Mel!” Trinity’s face lit up at the sight of her girlfriend, naturally making her way over to her. The brunette pulled her in by the waist and moved to press a kiss to her cheek. “Thank you my love, you look gorgeous,” she murmured back, smiling warmly as she carefully ran a hand through Mel’s hair admiringly. “How was your day?” Trinity leaned back to look at Mel with a soft expression on her face, one reserved for the people she truly loved the most. She also kept an eye on Dennis and Indi as they talked, her nosy nature getting the best of her. Trinity slowly dragged her hand down Mel’s arm now to take her hand, turning towards the hostess to let her know that their whole party had arrived.

Mel smiles as she gets pulled in by Trinity. “Thank you, lovely” She says as she turns to watch Indigo and Dennis talk for the first time. Mel finds comfort in the hand in hers as Trinity’s thumb rubs the side of her hand. She watches as Trinity signals to the hostess that we’re ready and the hostess grabs the menus and tells us to follow her. Mel adjusts her top as she starts walking hand in hand with Trinity, following behind Dennis and Indigo. The hostess leads them to a four person booth and Mel watches as the hostess places down the menus and walks off and they all sit down.

Trinity thanked the hostess and slid into the booth, taking her place across from Mel. She glanced around at the table, happy to be surrounded by her friends and girlfriend, and even more delighted at the prospect of playing cupid. She figured that even if Indigo and Dennis didn’t end up being interested in each other romantically, they would probably get along as friends. It would be nice to be able to mesh her friend groups together. She cleared her throat and flipped the menu open to a random page. “Did any of you look at the menu yet?” she asked as she started to read through the options.

dennis sits down next to trinity and grabs a menu to start looking through the options. “honestly no i haven’t” he laughs a bit and scans some more looking for something not too heavy on his stomach. dennis looks up at indigo and smiles, “have you ever been here before?” he asks, his leg bouncing under the table as he nervously waits for an answer.

indi sat next to mel, smiling a little at her as they settled in beside her. they had already looked at the menu online ahead of time; they knew themselves pretty well and knew that they’d be paralyzed if they hadn’t prepared beforehand. still, they grabbed a menu to keep up appearances, flipping to the salads, where the dish they’d already decided on was. they looked up at dennis, shaking their head. “i haven’t, sorry,” they smiled apologetically. “were you thinking of getting anything specific?”

dennis looks at them, “uhm no, preferably nothing too expensive or too much” he said and he puts a hand through his hair nervously to try and “fix it” when it already looks fine. “it’s my first time here so-“ he look over at trinity, his leg still bouncing slightly against hers. “what’s good here do you know?” he asks trinity glancing at her menu then looking up at her face. he then is interrupted by the waiter coming over to introduce himself saying his name was adam and asking the group for their drink orders, looking at dennis first. “oh uhm ill have a dr. pepper please” dennis says to him.

indigo hummed thoughtfully, flipping through the menu to try and give him some suggestions. they bit the inside of their cheek nervously. “maybe a salad or a rice-based dish?” they suggested, shrugging a little. “i dunno. i was eyeing the arugula salad, personally.” indigo’s gaze shifted to trinity as dennis asked her a question, and then to their server as he took their drink orders. they hesitated for a moment, briefly averting their gaze. “um- water’s fine,” they settled on awkwardly.

Trinity drummed her nails on the table as she thought of what to recommend Dennis. “Hmm. I really like the risotto, but it’s kinda heavy,” she mused, tilting her head to the side in thought. “I’ve heard the salmon’s good though?” she looked back at Dennis to see what he thought. After Indi ordered their drink, Trinity glanced at the rest of the table. “Would anyone split a bottle of wine with me?” she suggested.

Mel smiles up at the waiter already knowing what she wants when he gets to her because she orders it at every restaurant, “I’ll have a strawberry lemonade please!”. She thinks about Trinity’s offer then looks over at her and nods “Yeah sure!” She picks her boot up from the ground and rubs it slightly against Trinity’s calf smiling at her. “Any type of wine is fine so whatever is your favorite”. Mel looks over at Dennis then at the waiter.

Trinity looked over at her girlfriend fondly, having seen her order her signature favorite drink many times before, even before they had started dating. She nodded appreciatively, reciprocating the gesture with her own foot affectionately. "Awesome," she grinned, nodding. "And if either of you two want, you're welcome to it too, of course," Trinity added, flipping to the list of wines. "We could do a Chardonnay?" she looked back up for approval.

Mel nods smiling from the gesture with her foot. “Sounds great babe!” She looks back up at the waiter and he writes it down and walks off. Mel remembers the conversation with Dennis earlier and tries to help him out with his food order, “Dennis, they have really good cubans here if you are in the mood for a sandwich?” She looks at him and smiles softly. “That might honestly be what I get too”. She looks back down at her menu.
