The [ ] Stage possible spinoff and what it could be about
SO. Super recent post on the alnst twitter and im FREAKING OUT so rambling it all out here as i did not foresee this
Its a school au, but what could see it possibly be in reality of the project? I theorise it as
1. a false illusion that the survivors (Mizi, Till, Luka) are undergoing pretending they are in school
2. alternate universe/reincarnation that somehow feels something uncannily wrong, no matter what reality the cast is innately flawed but human
3. An AU set prior to the aliens coming to earth with the cast later reincarnated into alnst canon (see below on this theory)
What could be possibly explored in this?
Obviously this is our alien stage cast, but instead of their corrupted adolescence in ankat garden and quickly-snuffed-out adulthood in alien stage, this shows the cast CLEARLY in teenagehood— the midstage between both. It wants to see what the stages of childhood to adults are, especially with how much Karma MV insists on the main cast’s childhood and innocence being inherently corrupted by the strict social institutions (literal dystopian aliens) they were under. From toxic idol culture, flawed parenting and care by the seygeins, gendered objectification and queerness.
This new project is trying to comprehend if the cast will still be the same even if in a more socially ‘safe’ setting (a human setting dictated by humans). This is the very same belief Mizi has doomed herself into due to her guilt,
“And even if we’d been granted freedom, we’d have still felt alone.
Because humans are the root of all this pain
We’re creatures who can’t seem to love without exploiting”
Can these kids who can afford to learn and grow in an explicitly educational setting (like the ankat garden) likewise love without exploiting? Can they if they are no longer dehumanised ‘creatures’, no longer pets, but humans that attained freedom.
The other pictures in the twitter layout
Based on the alnst twitter’s layout pics…the profile pic eye is the same from Karma…so themes of lost innocence once again? The lambs in Karma suggest how the innocent kids of ankat garden unfortunately hurt each other regardless, showed by the lamb licking the other bloody. Mizi internalised this till her eyes are like a lamb’s, a victim that preyed to ‘win’ the stage. Similar themes would continue on the level someone’s innocence could hurt another, intentionally or not, and the guilt that follows.
The banner pic showcases a normal, ‘innocent’ sunset sky that is also intruded by a black thing…is that a crack of the everyday facade or a space ship?
We know that canon, the aliens invaded earth one day and basically took over— could this be the same starting narrative? In a way, the whole cast is reincarnated twice: pre-alnst and in alnst.
Otherwise it signifies something wrong here.
Parallels of ALNST Posters
The two posters here are mirroring each other, same positions and everything but different realities. Sua, the heart of the alnst narrative as she haunts it, looks back to us. HOWEVER here hyuna is the one who looks back. This could suggest hyuna is the one to haunt the narrative, perhaps not in literal death but her lasting ideologies that Mizi rebutted in her Karma monologue:
“Not once did you face your real feelings
Did clinging to some noble cause or sense of justice ever really fix anything?”
This relates to the plan that Hyuna wanted— to send their existence outside to space- to the possibility of another world. Mizi and hyuna’s ideals clashed, and the hope hyuna had did physically crash in that ship.
But regardless what if in another life, universe, like this possible spin-off/project/universe as this new reveal is the said existence she calls out to. Another life they can be happy. This is the ideology that will be challenged against mizi’s, perhaps why hyuna will haunt this narrative
Anyways thanks for reading my super long post trying to grapple everything bc WHAT WAS THAT. Im scared.
