The Ndumoto 3 Bridge spans 215 meters across the Ndumoto seasonal river. The river causes extensive flooding in the area which necessitated a bridge of such length. The bridge has adopted a 2 T shaped abutment on both ends.

The Masimba #Railway Station located 6km away from Masimba Town. #SGRKenya

Just freshly pressed. In clockwise from above, a forklift operator moves to a from stacking freshly baked Railway Sleepers at Section 7 Sleeper Factory. Below is a concrete batching plant, many of these have been installed along the railway to mix exact concrete ratios. Next is the steel frame for the Bridge Girders and last are the new trains for construction of the Standards Gauge Railway.

Among the wagons that have arrived at section 7 are the covered wagons, ballast open top hoppers, flat bed wagons and a locomotive engine. More are expected to arrive soon.

A gantry crane operator walks alongside the steel lifting unit to check that the hooks have locked on the load. The intense release of steam is from the steam kiln bath below which has just been opened. #RailwaySleepers are put under steam and cold water jets for 4-6 hours at 45 Degrees Centigrade after which they harden and are ready for removal.
