Megaman Sprite Comic

spoilers for both megaman sprite game and FRANKEN ahead!!

in both cases i started with an idea for the ending (FRANKEN was created because i was walking around my house and started laughing thinking about the idea of an RPG where the final boss was frankenstein's monster) and then i kind of just make up everything else as i go along, which allows me to be fairly spontaneous but also still have a decent sense of direction as to where I want it all to end up. I needed a monster to fight in the cave, so i made up Blood Man, and then had his dialogue foreshadow frankenstein! I also came up with Eclypson as a kind of awesome rpg final boss who would have a reason to make a frankenstein.

megaman sprite game was the same! i had 3 ideas at the very start of the game: "the plot should be about megaman fighting ghosts", "the final dungeon should be in a wacky warehouse", and "the antagonist should have silhouette of dr. wily's head" being a fun reveal. megaman sprite game is intentionally very unfocused and kind of just went wherever I was feeling. i already had the ghost say some stupid dialogue about wanting to deliver a package at the start of the game so i came back to that later to make the weird recursive time loop plot point, it was never intended to be a set up for anything at first!
