my dad's been saying stuff like "bet" and "no cap" recently and honestly I thought he was doing a bit, but it turns out a few months ago his job moved him next to some of the young people in the office, so now my almost-retirement-age father just actually talks like this I guess
he was telling me today about how one of these Young People™ used to be a hockey player, and coincidentally one of the 30-somethings in the office used to be a referee. and the ex-ref likes to tell stories about how many times he had to break up fights the younger guy started, and they hang out all the time, and haha it's so funny they ended up at the same boring office job, and man...some romance writer or AU fic author out there must be feeling their eye twitching from the sheer BL plot nonsense vibes emanating from this building
