Every year I choose an artist to listen to when welcoming in the new year. It’s usually someone who has inspired a way of living life through freedom of lyrics and emotion; challenging the way I think and view the world. I see this as setting a mood, tone, or attitude toward the new year that I would like to experience. It is something that I will play with my windows down; sprawling through suburbs and towering cities. A feeling that will travel with me thousands of feet above; between the clouds.
