âI found a copy of Superman in the library back in third year. Someone had left it. I started reading it, and was completely hooked, so I started ordering them, and then there was the Justic League comics, and that led to the Flash. Itâs far better reading than anything else weâve got.â He shook his head about her next question.  âWhy would a circus fly? All that monkey and elephant shit everywhere? It sounds like a complete mess.â He scoffed, blinking once, twice, and then a third time. Surely, she had to be joking. It was a noncontested fact that James Potter was the best chaser in the school. At least, he thought it was noncontested. He wouldnât have been made captain this year if he hadnât been just downright incredible. Right?  âNow youâre just being mean. Faye Dunaway or Linda Carter, maybe, but not Charlotte Rampling. She just doesnât do it for me.â Letting out an overexaggerated sigh, James placed his hand in her own.  âI already know what it says, but feel free to confirm it.â
She laughed, saying, âthey really need to get a librarian cleaning up that stuff. Though, I guess itâs a good thing you found it.â Shaking her head, she said, âno, no! Itâs not actually about a flying circus! Itâs just a bunch of different comedy sketches. Each episode is a different thing, and itâs really funny! Like, thereâs one about a cheese shop, but it doesnât have any cheese. You just have to watch it to get it.â His reaction made her laugh again, and she shook her head, saying, âfine, James, youâre the best. And I never took you for the type to be so into blondes. Now, come on.â With his hand in hers, she motioned for him to sit down. She, herself, sat cross legged onto the ground, fingers spreading open his palm so she could look at it.Â
âSee here, look, your marriage line intersects your heart line as it curves downward. This means youâll probably have an early marriage, around twenty years old,â she said, tracing out the line with a fingertip. âItâs long, smooth, so youâll definitely marry someone out of free love. Maybe Farah Fawcett, given you meet her within the next few years.â She laughed, then went to a different line, adding, âsee, you donât have a fate line, which would be right here, so instead I have to read your life line for both life and fate. I donât know what it means for longevity,â she started, tracing it out, âbut there will be danger in your life. However, you wonât have any problems with serious illness, meaning you'll always be healthy.â Dorcas muttered off, looking over the rest of his lines. âSee this? This is good luck!â A finger pointed to a hash symbol on the outside of his palm, near the wrist. âIt looks like the word for âwellâ in Chinese, my nan says itâs lucky no matter where it is on your hand! Itâs on your Mount of Luna which I think means you will have a good career and be a leader, or that your descendants will uphold the family honor. So, either one is good! You might be a world-famous Quidditch captain, and I guess so would your child, if thatâs your âfamily honor,ââ she explained, air quotes on those last couple words. âThere, thatâs what you wanted to know, right?â
