“Okay, that was definitely a shooting star, did you see it?! You have to make a wish!”

Molly laughed, shaking her head, “I didn’t see you! You have to see it, don’t you, to wish on it?”

“Anyone’s got any idea what was up with Slughorn today? He was in a sour mood today, and that’s not at all like him, now is it?”

“No idea, I just hope he cheers up for next lesson, he’s great, but I don’t think I could go through that again. He didn’t even yell at me, just glared!”

“You know what? The Great Squid should be called the INK-redible Squid in stead. Just saying.” 

“Oh dear god, please no, no more puns. Please.”

“That is an impressive stain you’ve got there … I’d almost think it was a fashion statement if it wasn’t so nasty,” said Lucius, nose wrinkled slightly as he looked at the person’s shirt.

“Ah, well, I’d much rather have something I can clean up than- well, actually, I’m going to use that on someone who’d appreciate it more, rather than someone who’s ears are muffled because of where their head is shoved,” Molly flashed him a fake smile, and nodded. “Thank you for pointing it out, Lucius, now I can clean it up and will face no more embarrassment. Have a pleasant day.” 

Adella felt heat and pain radiate through her face as she held her cheek. Had he really just slapped her? A mudblood had hit her? She regained her balance, though the the throbbing hadn’t subsided, and pulled her want out, pressing the tip harshly into his jugular, “How dare you? I swear on my name that you’ll pay for that, you filthy–,” She stopped as she felt the presence of someone else in the corridor, though she kept her wand to his neck.

   “Way to ruin the party.“ He smirked, giving up to even attempt and keep his friend by his side. “Now, as you scared my friend, may I ask you for something? Pretty please.“

As she got a better look at her brother, she furrowed her eyebrows. “Depends on what you want, Fab,” she paused, looking from the friend, to Fabian. “What exactly happened to you?” The girl gestured to his lip.

“It’s quite effortless, but thank you for noticing.”

“Uh, Mr. Shacklebolt. I can’t say that I meant to say that out loud.”

“oi, what’s that supposed to mean?” but he was smiling, and there was an air of casualty around the conversation. “that’s cute,” mundungus said with a cheeky grin, blowing a puff of smoke through his nostrils.

“It’s supposed to be an insult, love.” The red-head grinned. “I’m not gonna ask you what you got on yours, but I have a feeling you’re gonna tell me anyways.” 

“I was - I was just …” Ted gestured at the guitar in confusion, looking from it to Molly. “What is - I’m just playing?”

“You’re acting as if you’re in some sort of rock-band, you’re going to break your strings.”

“I’m really not sure– I’ve never seen it around before so I’m not even sure if it was someones in here–”

   “Molly are you okay? It’s Frank, you know, the awkward boy with the ginger cat.“

“Jesus, Molly, we’re all having a rough time, all right? Stand down.”

“Am I supposed to be following the philosophy that ‘just because others have it worse, I’m not allowed to be upset’? I’m not gonna do that, Lily. I’m allowed to be angry.”

“at least buy me dinner first, prewett,” mundungus smirked through a cigarette. “i’ll have you know that my idiocy is quite calculated, thank you. remind me again, what did you get on your OWLs?”

“Of course, me the Quidditch captain has never seen the Gryffindor Qudditch team in action!” Gwenog shook her head. “You need glasses then, because I’m fairly certain Karoonda snatched the Snitch in spectacular fashion last time. Not to mention, how can your chasers do much chasing with me and Ludo pelting them? Potter’s not as impressive as he’d have everyone believe.”

Molly raised an eyebrow in surprise, not expecting Gwenog to become so defensive. “Well, my brother’s a beater too, and he’s bloody excellent at it.” She crossed her arms, almost daring the Ravenclaw to insult Fabian. “Slinkhard’s great, and our chasers are a team, a unit, and they’re awesome at it. Sorry, was it the Ravenclaw captain that led their team to victory last year, or was it Potter?”

“I didn’t– it just, it just happened– I walked into the dormitory and the cat ran out it all happened so fast–”
